Rhule must make changes TONIGHT

Y
White is not that great. Converting third and long on him is as easy as clubbing baby seals.
You're not wrong but I feel like he will eventually get better. Satterfield on the other hand I have no hope for or any coach on offense to be honest.

The only guy I would fire right now is Satterfield. The defense wasn't stellar by any stretch but the fact that the offense can't sustain any drives is far more of an issue. I actually think the OL play pretty well. They weren't making holes for the OL and weren't giving Raiola time but he kept panicking and wan't seeing open receivers until they weren't open.
The WR blocking is still an issue but it didn't cost us the game. Haarberg might actually be the better QB at this moment in time because he can run the ball.
balanced post.

we need a new OC
HH should be starting (at this point in time) and easing DR into things.
WR blocking is indeed an issue, as is actually catching the ball.

I understand that they are trying to give DR the time to solve his own issues, but he has gotten progressively worse, and they run the risk (albeit small) of damaging him. I'm sure his confidence is not where it was at the beginning of the year.

When you get locked in to only 1 player as your entire focus, at the expense of the team, you start to look a lot like the Frost/AM situation.

I am not saying DR has the same internal confidence problems that AM had, but as some point you wonder if the poor production is rubbing off on other players too.

You can't build your team and culture around 1 guy.. the rest of the team notices this and you lose cohesion as a team. I think we are at that point now. Rhule must address this, or you will start to see an exodus of good players to the portal.. in fact, I'm almost certain this will happen now, regardless of the outcome of the remaining games.

He won't don't worry. 3 more years.

How about Rhett Lashee the coach of SMU? He has the Mustangs rolling...Rhule ain't gonna do it. His Temple/Baylor run was way over rated and his personel evaluation is bad. He had one big diamond in the rough...Hasan Reddick...so he thinks he can win by coaching up "athletes". That was yesterday. Now you have to win with seasoned players and a very tight system. Also, I wonder if big universities have some type of insurance policy to cover early contract buyouts under certain circumstances.

Truth is Railoa missed a TD on the INT - game went from 14-13 to 20-7 - when he did not see Fidone running free. But, Rhule is the guy who is playing #15 so it falls on him.
And Rhule only holds certain people accountable like the best o lineman. 15 should have been benched numerous times this season for at least a series and Sat needs demoted immediately. I think White is fine except we have too many single digit walk ins playing on D that miss tackles on a regular basis

I worry about Barney. If the Canes go far in the playoffs and offer big NIL$ he could be gone IMO.

The team has given up. Shitty tackling. Shitty coverage. Your 5-star QB looks like a walk-on scrub. The effort isn’t there. The playcalling isn’t there. The ability to turn the momentum isn’t there.

Fire Satt.
Fire White.
Fire the WR coach.
Fire Raiola.

Hire a capable OC.
Hire a capable DC.
Hire a special teams coordinator. (What’s Busch doing these days?)

This is nauseating. If no changes are made, Preacher must go.
HuskAir, we normally are on the same page. But, not today man. This one was on Shatterfield solely, since you can't fire a QB for inexperience.

Many of us have bought into DR/Mahomes media bullshit, and we forget this guy is a Freshman.

Dude. T White too? Cmon brother.

WR coach. Ok I can kinda see it.

Walk Foley and Satt.

What about the RB coach? Nobody says anything about him. We have a frickin clown circus at RB and the coach is low radar.

If Rhule has to nearly purge his entire staff why should he be back? Are people not remembering we tried that with Frost?

It has been years since I’ve seen a defense this out of position and unable to make tackles. There are veteran liabilities on the field who are struggling with the basics, opposing QBs having all the time in the world to go through progressions, opposing running backs making the line to gain on 3rd and longs. I’m not sure what happened to the blitz packages and QB pressures from early in the year.

Ever since the Northern Iowa game, I’ve felt like the defense has struggled to get off the field and opponents have White figured out. Feels like Third and Chinander all over again.

I respect that man. Sometimes it does feel like 3rd and Chins.

Northern Iowa really exposed us, unfortunately. Now, every QB knows they can run on us

idk what changed with Satt but it isn’t just facing easier teams in the beginning. The play calling hasn’t looked remotely similar. There were not these multi-drive stretches of games with zero run calls during the wins and even against Illinois it wasn’t that bad.

Where has the Barney sweep gone?? Lloyd? Rahmir was also playing more during the wins, he was clearly the best runner last night, why is he mostly on the bench? Dowdell has no vision or wiggle. Why does it look like we’re trying to lose on purpose?

Satt is feeling the pressure and has caved in to a position of chaos; he has no idea WTF he's doing.

He's pretty much throwing all the plays into a hat and drawing one.

These coaches are paid too much and have too much experience for me to think there isn’t something deeper happening. Why would almost everyone on this board be able to outperform a million+ dollar coach at his own craft?

Most are not saying they could "outperform" coaches. We are strongly opinionated.

I think you are looking way too deep into a shallow pool. Not the first time we've had this discussion.

On the subject of play calling, I think most on this board would do a better job. It’s that bad. I’ve seen it said multiple times that a chimp would do better. I only know of one chimp on this board, the rest I believe are people.

I tip my hat to you. Our resident chimp would be worse.

Nebraska has been blown out once, as we know. They had their chances to beat Illinois, Ohio State, and Ucla. But they are still short big play makers, OC, and line coaches that truly could make a difference. Rhule has to make some changes but I doubt he will. Nebraska has a good recruiting class going for next year and hopefully some good transfers will come aboard.

I don't know if they will win anymore this year, the way they play lends a lot of doubt in that regard. We shall see.

Same thing that has happened a lot over the years, lack of sustained drives and trying to incorporate too many players with no real purpose.

I keep saying it but a good play caller would have Barney consistently incorporated into the run game, with motion, fakes, etc. You would make a defense at least hesitate by doing that and keep them off balance. I think Barney is the only player that concerns anyone at this point on our entire team.

Hold on here. Can't say nobody but maybe I am a nobody but I said fire barthel. I also said the whole offense staff should be gone at the end of the season. Satt and wide receiver immediately

I would hire the sidney, ne High school coach tomorrow over this guy, and if he said no try either wahoo coach,
That's no joke. A lot of this college coaching stuff is all about career path. There are good offensive minds at the HS level and at least a few of them are certainly better than their counterparts at the college level.

I want to defend Garrett McGuire. It's very easy to look bad when you are coaching under the wrong coordinator. But given the poor performance, horrible blocking effort and technique of these receivers, it looks like some of those receivers don't even respect him. Those receivers are playing at a level that will get their position coach fired.

This is what people who focus on results over process are doomed to

Day late, dollar short, grasping at straws

There were absolutely times when we didn’t run the ball for long stretches early in the season.

We threw it more than we ran it against an FCS team.

Against ILL we called offense like we were down by multiple scores despite leading or being tied the entire game.

You just ignored it all because the results were satisfactory to you and you have no clue what you’re watching.

Add in your emotional butthurt kneejerk instinct to disagree with anything I say and it’s a recipe for thinking we’re losing on purpose instead of just employing a horseshit playcaller and .500 head man - the two obvious correct answers.

What has Satterfield accomplished in order to deserve staying here through the rest of the season?

Aaron Murray had been calling out our wrs since week one against UTEP. Garret McGuire should not be a position coach at this level. He's in over his head

We're paying these head coaches too much, there's no sense of self-preservation because they're sitting on a winning lottery ticket win or lose. If he was making $1 million a year he'd be motivated to move certain guys out of their spots, in fact, he'd probably have already done it. We're in an awful awful position of Rhules making.
