It’s official: there are no current rules for CFB. Players can literally just transfer at any time and be eligible immediately. Can you imagine if Patrick Mahones left the Chiefs on his own during training camp and went and joined the Broncos?
Life is full of loopholes. He took advantage of it. Crazy how under the radar this was for how highly touted he was.

The kid literally left school - made his own contacts to find a better fit and switched schools to be a part of the team. None of this is easy vs putting your name in the portal and having everyone and their dog flying you around to wine and dine you to join. I admire his effort and ingenuity and most of all his blocking ability.

Don't see any downside. If he plays, it's all upside. If he leaves we're no worse off than before he arrived.
It’s always easier to justify when the positives go our way. Have a kid leave or someone come poach a player, then let’s see if you feel the same way. Right now, this team seems really tight and all in. It also seemed like no one, including the coaches were sure about his status at first.

It's a joke at this point. I mean... Gundy was boasting the other day that he was laying down the law at Okie State-- not exactly the big time-- telling players "OK, now that the season is starting, there will be no more requests for more money. That stuff can start again once the season is over."
Yeah, and that won't last. Soon their will be agents or consultants hitting up kids on every campus. Offering to handle the non-portal transfer process from "A to Z" for a reasonable fee or percentage of future NIL (whatever is greater).
This is the SAME reaction EVERY fan base would have. "We'' aren't any different, get off your high horse, just once. You are nothing if not consistent with your jabs at the program with ANY chance you get.
