Plumlee visiting!

What’s are chances here. Him visiting shows he is definitely interested but what’s the likely hood of us getting him? I have no clue who he’s a real player for? I see he has a lot of offers and all that but it’s not showing who his top schools are.

I have read elsewhere that it will be tough to pull him out of the SE. He is a great baseball player too. If he gets drafted, or drafted high enough, the NLI may not matter.

I’m at his high school at least twice a year for work! Beautiful facilities there!

We've been down that road at least three times before and so far all NU has to show for it is a huge loss in time and resources and the opportunity cost of successfully recruiting someone else.

Yep, big money talks.

I think he is worth going after despite his baseball inclinations. Some successful programs might back off his recruitment because of it, opening the door wider for us. The problem in the past is that we put all our eggs in that one basket, so when the guy goes baseball we are screwed. Go ahead and recruit him but go hard after others as well. And remember... the dude might be worth waiting for. What I mean is that even if he goes baseball after high school there is no guarantee he makes it to the big leagues. He might languish in the minors for a few years and then decide to go back to college football. The kid looks legit and is worth the gamble, imho.

The problem is that you have to sign him in Dec/Feb and the MLB draft isn’t until June. We don’t really need 2 QBs this class but in order to not put all your eggs in this basket, you have to get 2 in case he goes baseball.

He is a nice looking prospect, but so are the other 9 or 10 so unless he is willing to say he is going to play football, I would put my main attention elsewhere.

I’d have to agree with this. We have gotten the worst end of the stick when it comes to this in the past, M Harrison (hope I got that right) the 4 star WR? Unless he picks us and says he’s sticking football for sure, we’d have to go for another QB to be ok the safe side.

I don't disagree entirely. If we're well stocked at his position, we do not invest a ton of time & resources on the kid and there's a reasonable chance of him choosing football, then fine. That way if the kid gets drafted, the worst thing that could happen would be an extra open scholarship for a grad transfer or walk-on. But that's not what happened in NU's case, with Crawford, Starling, and Harrison being star additions to the class at positions of need. Each loss hurt dearly, especially Crawford.

I liken this scenario to the Coach Cav blunder of chasing a five star recruit and spending a ton of time on him and too little time on others. Only to find out later that NU was battling for 2nd or 3rd place the entire time and Cav didn't have the awareness to realize it.

Good points. However, the coaches must see some hope here or else they wouldn't be wasting a visit on him. Or so it would seem...

Foster Sarell from Washington committed to Stanford. We had zero chance with him but the kid and his family were too nice to flat out tell Cav and Riley that he wasn’t ever going to Nebraska and Cav and Riley were too stupid to recognize all the indications short of being told to bugger off

I'll bet the Royals wish Bo had been more persuasive. What a waste of big bucks.
