Please no

I sometimes listen to the ticket in the morning, and this morning those yahoos all seemed to think it would be s good thing to storm the field if we beat CO.

how can anyone think beating an average CO team, 4-8 last year, and storming the field, wouldn’t be anything but completely embarrassing? Fss.
If it's a great game with both teams playing well and we win it at the end, go ahead and storm the field. It's not the 90s anymore. Every single program in the Power 5 has been to a bowl game more recently than NU football.

JFC this would be a new low point in Nebraska football. Storming the field after beating a 4-8 team? The rest of the nation is laughing.
Seriously? After all of the embarrassment this program has been through winning a game on national TV and storming the field would be rock bottom? Give me a break. This program has already scraped the bottom of the barrel so hard that it's clawed through it into the first circle of hell.

see that's sweet and all, but you just got done saying this:

it's all part of this old guard ethos that Nebraska can only behave in the way they did in the 70's-90's.

you need to let go of this idea you have that Nebraska is the gentle giant of benevolence and class because that is a very dangerous combination of ignorant and soft.

this is a new era, one where Dylan Raiola hasn't seen Nebraska play in a bowl game since he was in 4th grade, and Colorado deserves to have their face shoved in shit when they lose.

let people have fun, nobody is gonna storm the living room couch you'll be watching from.

Do you really think it's about being the same team from the 90's? That's long gone and most don't think it's realistic to ever have another run like that.

It's about some kinda standard where you don't lower yourself to actually storm the field for beating a team record wise was worse than you because basically our fan base has gotten their feelings hurt by the bullies from Boulder lol.

You guys are who actually think a team of their quality deserves that kinda attention is laughable to me.

Do we rush the field next time we beat Northwestern or Illinois too?

Seriously I can't even believe people are actually considering this. Let alone trying to justify it...to each his own I guess.

I don't see it that way at all. I'd rather leave em be and just kick their ass. I'm sure a question will come up post game about last year if we were to win. Maybe a quick jab and be done with it. To me a program like them doesn't deserve that kinda respect.

Tell me they are a top 10 team I could see it but this team? They had a worse record than we did last year lol.

Imo it sounds like Sean is a little butthurt for maybe how guys were treated in boulder and wants extract some type of revenge that way. Comes of as childish to me I guess.

Beat the brakes off of em and let the paramedics sort em out. That's how I'd get back at all of them....on the field.

eI to understand that. Call me old school or whatever but because they are twenty that doesn't make it any better imo. Hell we are supposed to teach the youth lol. Imo it'll be a fail on the mother and fathers of those 20 yr olds should they rush the field lol

It's supposed to be something monumental or mean something big has happened. I just don't see THIS GAME being anything to the level of rushing the field worthy.

Yeah, big difference in record there - 5-7 vs 4-8. They punked our asses last year and basically laughed in our faces. Comparing the long-standing hatred of Colorado to the emotions of beating NW or ILL is ridiculous. You know better or you must not be a Nebraska fan.

That’s the caliber of team CU is, nothing more. No, we don’t hate NW or Ill, but is that the standard now? Don’t need to get an impressive win against a good team to rush, just hate the other team enough.

There is no standard. If 5,000 college kids rush the field it means nothing in a larger sense about Nebraska fans.

You mean the 5,000 college kids who have more understanding and history with NW and Ill than they do with CO, and who most likely don’t have any idea of the “long-standing hatred” of Colorado? Those 5,000 college kids?

Yes, the kids that were smart enough to experience last year’s game alone and perceive that they were experiencing a rivalry with a long history.

It's instinct. Like sea turtles know to dig out and immediately head towards water. Nebraska kids are born hating CU. When they are infants they can smell the piss and weed reaking from the hippies in Boulder and know danger lurks. Later in life they will know to not park a car in Boulder with Husker window stickers or it might get keyed.

No.

We are a 7.5-point favorite and it’s week 2.

The fact this discussion is even being had is embarrassing.
The majority of discussion topics on here are a bit embarrassing.

Can't have it both ways. Don't we want the fans to be loud and for the atmosphere to be electric? If that's the case, then prepare for a field storming. Too many people on here seem to think that college kids can be totally wild during the game and then suddenly flip a switch. It don't work that way. I think some of you on here would rather have the college kids limit their cheering to muted golf clapping and then exit the stadium as if they just finished watching an opera.

...buncha lame ass honkey mo fo's in here.

But seriously, can I get a show of hands on how many minds have been changed in this riveting "I know you are but what am I thread"...?
Got any fun bike trips planned this fall? Some of us live vicariously through your adventures. Not gonna be long and the Aspens are going to be turning.

Yes, because most can't make their point without some form of "b-b-but our tradition! Osborne's team would've never!!"

It's about some kinda standard where you don't lower yourself to actually storm the field for beating a team record wise was worse than you because basically our fan base has gotten their feelings hurt by the bullies from Boulder lol.
ope, there it is, the "muh Nebraska standards" line. buddy, our standards for the last decade are losing by 1 score, getting spanked by rivals, firing coaches, and missing bowl season. join 2024.

if your feelings are hurt by a younger generation feeling joy, then i'm not sure what to tell you. maybe fire up another werther's original and wax the town car again?
You guys are who actually think a team of their quality deserves that kinda attention is laughable to me.
this sentence was a mess, but i think i understand the essence, more of the "muh Nebraska standards"
Do we rush the field next time we beat Northwestern or Illinois too?
i suppose if you're a brainlet who completely ignores the contextual importance of the game and the media circus around Colorado this could make sense.

were I to attend the game, I would not rush the field. not a viable activity in your 30's.

it speaks to a bigger issue overall about the culture of Nebraska fans. We haven't even started winning yet and a large subset of fans are already concerned with whether or not we're going to be the appropriate level of excited, because god forbid we become known as anything other than the nicest fans in the country.

i hope to God i'm wrong about being worried about the outcome and we bitchslap Colorado into oblivion, because this thread dedicated to "how should we act when we beat Colorado" is going to be incredibly cringe if we end up on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

So every team we hate we rush the field???

Who decides who we hate?

That premise makes it worse lol

This game obviously has a lot of juice. I don’t care either way on the field rush - but playing NW and Illinois will not be a nationally televised night game. There is legit energy around this game on a national spotlight and I’m fired up for it.

Lots of emotion and many expect this to be a program changing game - which I think it is a crossroad game for us. Not because CO is good but can we exercise some demons to show we are ready for the spotlight. Let’s goooooo!

Y'all really must've been bullied as kids lol. So because they punked us and laugh when we win we rush the field??

I'm a huge Nebraska fan. Been around since about 81. So I was around at the beginning of the CU rivalry.

Like I said I can't be convinced that we should rush the field if we beat these guys but to each his own. Y'all have at it and tear down the goal post for beating a team that was worse than you last year, you are favored to be at this year just to make you feel better about how they treated you.

I'll reserve my biggest celebration for when we are capable of beating a top 10 team or so. Or one where we are a massive underdog.

Again...to each his own.

The more I read, the more I start to feel like this team it’s not ours anymore, so to speak. I feel as we get older and the next generation of college kids go through their time together being fans of Nebraska, they should be able to do what feels right for them. If they want to storm the field, this is their time, let them.

We grew up where Nebraska winning games was a common theme, I just hope they get a chance to witness that like I did growing up.

If some of you don’t understand how significant it would be for us to beat this 4 win team vs any other team in the nation….at this moment in Husker history, then we are all speaking a different language. This game is so significant from a psychological and program visibility land confidence level. It’s more than a W and L conversation. Beat these fvcking d-bags and jam the goalposts up Primes arse. I want a different energy from the crowd this weekend. A suppressed rage of competitiveness and confidence that we sorely need.

Kind of like our ‘we’re back’ win against Arizona in the Holiday Bowl

Or our breakthrough win against Michigan State

Or that time we exorcized the demons vs Penn State

This one game will totally define everything about the future of Nebraska football. 😅

You basically have two choices for the day when you wake up. You can focus on the windshield or the rearview mirror. Eyore or optimist.

I choose the windshield and optimism.
I posted this opinion on May 25th:

getting to .500 vs Deion would be by far the biggest accomplishment we will have seen on the field since Mike Riley’s first year. (corrected - since Riley's 2nd year)

And it would be Rhule’s first [positive] on-field signature moment as our coach.

I was told to "just stop" by @bigboxes and that it was a cheap shot at Rhule by @10Trvln

good to see everyone has come around once more to what has always been painfully obvious

massive game for our program. as must-win as must-win gets. optimism is ready to burst the dam. no question about any of it.

still, you don't storm the field after winning a game you're favored to win by more than a touchdown. super simple.
