Anyone live near Baltimore, Maryland?

I'll be looking for a townhouse/house to rent starting basically Thanksgiving weekend for a year, possibly more. I've got 3 small kids (Kindergarten and under) and the wife, so something 3-4 bedrooms would be the target, for as reasonable as I could get it.

I'll be at Fort Meade, so a convenient commute is desired :)

Thanks for listening Husker Network.

I have a few former Air Force buddies that work at Ft Meade. I'll check to see if they know of anything.

Believe it or not, try Craigslist. Stay far away from Baltimore, the traffic is horrible.

Your best bet for affordability, ease of commute would be Odenton. It is about a 10 min ride to Ft. Meade.

Annapolis is too expensive and the traffic blows there, too. I-97 can get really bad, especially during rush hour. Anything north of 95 and you are driving 2-3 hours a day, maybe more.

I've lived in Maryland for the last 10-plus years, so trust what I'm telling you. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have about the area.

I think my initial scrub of the area, based on what others have told me is that Odenton and like Crofton/Gambrills area would be good.

There seem to be plenty of good schools in that general triangle.

The other area that folks generally seem to like is Columbia although I have colleagues that lived in Pasadena and Severna Park.

Crofton is nice, but a bit more expensive and a harder commute. Gambrills is similar.

Columbia is nice, but a little pricier than Odenton, Pasadena and Severna Park wouldn't be bad options, cheaper and easier commute than Crofton.
