OT Kids playing Call of Duty ect

I have 2 boys 10, 6 and was wondering what everyone's take on first person shooter games for kids. At what age do you let kids play COD ect? It seems like more than half of the older son's friends from school play it all the time and he is pissed I don't let him. Curious what the great rss has to say.
