I just bought the iPad (2017) 5th generation on the day after Thanksgiving sale for $249 and have played around on it a few times.
Not sure on the specs, but it must not have a fast processor as a few things are a slower than my GS6 phone.

I bought the plain Jane a few months ago and am pleased with it. My main gripes with my iPad Air were crashes due to inadequate memory and inadequate storage for Amazon Prime movies/tv. The new one solved both issues. I fly a lot and the current 32gb is perfect though I could probably someday benefit from even more storage. As for the form factor the screen size is perfect for airplanes.
Some people see no need for a computer if they have the iPad Pro, but I still believe in a MacBook or other PC for my work and personal finance apps. That would be the determining factor for me: Can you give up your PC if you get a Pro?

Good question... I quess you get the best of both worlds if you purchase the iPad Pro and your PC needs up date as well like mine does.

This is the first one that I have ever owned. My parents have one that they got almost 10 years ago. We cannot even get it to update the software anymore. My wife uses Kindles.
I am not even sure why we got the iPad because about the only thing that I will use it for is for games... although I have put Microsoft Word and Excel and plan on getting a Bluetooth keyboard for it.
I guess, one thing someone with an answer needs to ask of you, is what do you plan to use your iPad for?
Always been a Ipad kind of guy....but just bought a Surface Pro..... there is really no comparison between the two... Ipad has 'aps' .and the Surface Pro is a windows ten full computer.
