Thanks. I am about to open it.
It is bitterly cold here too in Harvey's Lake, PA (Currently around 15 heading down to 5). Bring on the Rye!

I prefer Scotch to Bourbon, but like both. I like the smokey and peaty Scotches of Islay like Ardbeg, Laphroig, Lagavulin

My preferences in Bourbon tend toward classic sweet, smooth. So I like Buffalo Trace and Makers Mark and Basil Heyden

Excellent thread for today- now I know how and with what to finish this terrible day

Scarlet I just had my first few sips of the Templeton Rye. Love it! I have only had one other Rye whiskey and I think it was made by Michters. But this is better. Thanks!

Hell, no need to thank me, thank the one or one's who gave it to you for a Christmas present..

You're welcome anyway...Beat Northwestern tomorrow 4-0 baby.

Templeton is my favorite rye. I've tried others from Royal Crown, Woodford and Knob Creek. Templeton is the good stuff.

Yes it was given to me by a friend I used to work with back in my stupid days as a prof. He loves it. But my daughter and her fiancé gave me a nice assortment of Scotches for Christmas so I have been slowly sampling those.
So... I am thanking you for recommending it to me. It probably would have sat on my shelf for another month or two. Now I doubt it lasts the week. ;)

Edit: yes beat Northwestern!

Knob Creek is a bourbon similar to Markers Mark. And Crown Royal is a blend whiskey and not a bourbon.

when I was younger I liked blends, my father always liked and still does the taste of bourbon in his drink that is how I found out the difference between the two.

I like Knob Creek. But I like Makers better. And I used to hate Crown Royal but have been warming up to it lately. My neighbor drinks nothing but that

True, but they both make Rye's. Both pretty good actually. In fact I like Crown Royal Rye better than regular Crown Royal.

Yea, I prefer Makers over Knob but sometimes I'll buy what is on sale.

Need to always watch the budget if I want to retire earlier.Winking
