OT- DC commercial plane and Blackhawk collide

I knew a guy in high school who ended up as a fighter pilot. He couldn’t have been 5’5” tall and I guarantee you there were dozens of girls I knew in high school and in college who could have kicked his ass. Piloting an aircraft isn’t dependent on testicles.

There's going to be some changes. There was an obvious miscommunication. That landing strip is way too busy and the air space is overcrowded. One thing that I think about is that the lives of the people on that flight need to hold more value. Compare what went on there with the precautions that are taken when Air Force One goes anywhere. There's nothing anywhere close to Air Force One when it is landing and rightfully so. Meanwhile, we've got helicopters flying across the front of a landing strip with three or four planes carrying American citizens closely lined up to land....
I watched Air Force One land with Bush on board years ago. It was somewhat surprising how little security there was then. I’m sure there’s more now including lots of helicopters and fighter escorts. It’s different risk assessment criteria.

It’s very simple. Put a 400$/ticket surcharge on people using DCA payable to the U.S. Treasury. It’s insane how cheap it is to fly across country. Our tickets in to DC we’re about $230 nonstop from Omaha. Too cheap.

Nah, I’m a big believer in not censoring anyone nor condemning thought. Hence my stance. People that theorize aren’t losers. Even people that think the world is a giant illusion. They may be closer to the truth than you think
I find it ironic you feel that way when you called me a Nazi for expressing my opinions about insane people. The double standard is right there for everyone to see.

okay. Then let them see it. Youre policing thought and calling others insane merely for having a theory you find obscene.

Maybe ask them why they think what they do. Maybe they saw something that made them question the event entirely. I doubt they’re clinically insane but rather skeptical of the world around them.

Dig into why they think that. I haven’t seen any video or theory that makes me think it’s all CGI but the event is sketchy AF. Maybe I’ll see something that makes me wonder.

Be careful condemning thought. It starts with CGI theory and always ends with jailing others for not thinking like the hive

I've wasted enough time trying to bring these dimwits back to reality on stuff like flat earth or other conspiracy theories. And I'm not talking social media. I'm talking face to face. Not anymore. Now they just get laughed at.

Free and FAIR markets.
Always an excuse. I expect an excuse if spending doesn't actually go down as well. Same as last time. People blamed that socialism on covid. The excuse this time will be deportations. Clearly no one is serious about reducing budgets or they wouldn't let the debt ceiling be used against them. Nothing wrong with the automatic cuts. Every department, including defense, should be able to cut a small amount without any problems.

By trying to censor people who express their opinions about opinions you like

You keep bringing up censorship. Who exactly is doing this so-called censorship?
You and the other guy. You make up in your heads that saying the plane crash was fake is bad for the victims so they shouldn’t post stuff like that.

It’s thought policing which is a form of censorship. I shouldn’t have to explain this. But you’re concerned about winning a debate rather than acknowledging truth. Posts are here for anyone who is honest to decide.

FWIW. The tariffs are being used to pressure the affected countries to do more to try to shut down the drug trade. Gotta have leverage to get them to the table.

Did I even say anything about the victims families? I'm just pointing out stupid or insane people. That seems to really bother you for some reason. Which I find hilarious because you actually called me a Nazi. Which is even more funny being that I consider myself somewhat of a history buff.

Bottom line, I will continue to mock those people, despite your objections. Feel free to mock me in response.

Can you point to where I said that? I said their a-holes.

if mocking others makes you feel better I guess that’s where this ends. You don’t bother me. You’re just the type of person throughout history that would banish others because their opinions make you deem them insane. We both know it’s a coping technique to make you feel better about your plight. But that’s a convo for another day.

We're not allowed to have an opinion about those opinions? You're just trying to censor us.

Never said it wasn't a possibility. Claiming it happened while 2 different groups said differently would make that a conspiracy to hide that fact. Thus, a conspiracy theory.

He keeps talking in circles. Saying he didn't say something when he clearly did. Then trying to play his words and say he was only speculating. I'm just keeping the bullshit in check.
Turns out I was right about the chopper’s altitude. It wasn’t wild speculation. It was based on having landed on that runway and the location of the crash. I’ll take an apology.

I can get behind the Mexican tariffs. Including Canada just seems stupid, especially when they offered to step up and create a stronger alliance on border security. How many people and how much drugs cross from Canada?

I honestly wonder how many people truly understand what our border with Canada is like. One dipshit congressman proposed a wall with Canada.

I'm here for all of it and hope this doesn't end up with Canada and Mexico forming a stronger Chinese trade alliance.

You’re like a little kid when you argue. Do you know that? How is anyone supposed to take you seriously? And you’re someone who can ban others. Hilarious

LOL using your argument against you is acting childish...aka you're calling yourself childish. I suppose that fits

Lol. Did you bring up a post about the Jersey drones to try and make it look like I was arguing with you about altitude?

Need to get rid of the White House. That way a military helicopter route doesn't have to bisect a busy airport runway. Too many national security concerns just to the north of that airport. That airport also should have been deprioritized to commercial traffic a long time ago.

Minimizing the suffering for others and denying it happened is being an a-hole.
Nah, they just believe it’s fake. The rest you’re making up like saying they’re insane or losers. Which, maybe they are but congrats on diagnosing others from a meme posted

Yeah, maybe not. Heard a report that the black box on the plane (which is reportedly supposed to be the most accurate) said it was 325 ft., so may want to pump the breaks on whatever it is you are delighting over.

It’s crazy. I read/heard that the radar showed airplane at 325 and showed helo at 200. Read/heard black boxes for both supported the same. Read/heard reports saying the same. So if this is true, there’s roughly 125 feet between the two in altitude, how on earth did they collide? None of it is making sense.

SOME believe it is fake. But I would say a greater majority of those people who spout this know that it is fake and do it to foment discord, particularly the originator. For example, someone hatched the idea that the pilot was trans, picked a name of a trans person out of a hat, and declared that they were the pilot. And then people were insisting that this trans person purposely crashed the helicopter until they put out a proof of life video. What good did that do? This is worse than ignorance. It is just purposeful evil.

I really haven’t been following but wasn’t the media reporting this?

I didn’t ignore it. If you watch the simulation and listen to some former NTSB officials, the pilot began to climb after receiving the “fly behind” instruction from the controller. You have stated there were no other planes in the are to be confused by. IN FACT there was another airborne flight in the Blackhawk’s path. The most recent video released from the DCA shows that clearly and it was noted last night by a NTSB official. There is also some question as to the actual elevation that the collision happened at by the NTSB.

Yesterday somebody accused the pilot of not following the flight path and should have been hugging the shore line. Turns out that their flight over the middle of the river was an approved and correct path. Having landed on that runway just Tuesday, I can tell you that we were probably not more than 200 ft high when we crossed the middle of the river.

At this point I’m not arguing that the pilot didn’t make a mistake. My concern for the future is that there were other factors that contributed to this accident that need to be corrected and will be.
Fly behind control order doesn't give permission to breach the ceiling.

It actually hasn’t definitively been proven the chopper was above 200’. Initial reports and elevation were inaccurate. I guarantee you it was less than the 500’ the plane supposedly was supposed to be at. One new estimate was 350’ but that’s not from a flight data recorder. I think it’s going to end up closer to 200 than 500 given the midpoint of the river where the crash happened. I understand why they patrol that river with Blackhawks but that’s a sketchy situation.

Multiple factors contributed. All will be looked at including the dedicated chopper controller leaving work early. 😕
NTSB said plane was at 325 feet, give or take 25 feet. So the plane was 300 to 350 feet. There was impact.
She was flying without 2 crew chiefs and with a flight instructor who should have been aware of their altitude. She was flying without a second crew chief who would have been responsible for spotting lateral aircraft.

Lastly they’ve already dropped the accident elevation estimates from 500 feet to 325 feet. I believe based on having landed on that runway about 30 hours before the accident, that the final finding is going to be that the plane was even lower than that. The runway starts virtually at the river’s edge probably not much more than a hundred yards from the crash. Saw the wreckage as we left DC yesterday.

IF the chopper was higher than 200’ they should have been warned by the controller and we won’t know if the chopper’s altimeter was working properly for probably a month. Unfortunately the dedicated helicopter controller left work early for some reason. 😕
Nobody said 500 feet. Most I've seen is 400. What matters is if the chopper was above ceiling. If plane was at 300 to 350 feet, it's safe to assume the chopper breached the ceiling. Anyone trying to say the chopper didn't encroach the planes airspace are the same people that claimed it was an F3 tornado that went through Elkhorn.

I’ve been insulted and criticized for 2 days for refusing to put all the blame on the chopper pilots. They were on an approved route and now as I believed since the beginning, may have been at an allowed altitude. It’s unlikely the plane pilots could have seen the chopper. The chopper was short a crew chief who would have been responsible for spotting lateral threats. The tower was short a dedicated chopper controller. Multifactorial problem. Looking less and less like the fault of the female pilot.
You immediately put all the blame on the commercial jet. Without knowing about anything you're talking about. Now you feel vindicated when someone said the chopper was at 200 feet at impact while the jet was at 300 to 350 feet at impact. If jet was at 300 feet, do you really believe the Blackhawk was at 200 feet at impact?
I’ll believe it was the chopper pilot’s fault when they prove it. I’m going to believe it was the controller’s or plane’s pilot error that caused this. A controller’s job is extremely difficult and stressful. A momentary mistake can cause something like this.

He's perfect for DC. He says so much that he can always point back to something that was right while ignoring all the nonsense he said.

Well, each has an incentive to, eh hem, maybe massage the numbers a bit.

The data from the tower now says the collision occurred at 200’.
