OT AI facial recognition

I guess we'd have to see the contract language
My President has seen it.

I was in for snow so was assigned to this first time. 20 minutes before clock in i text my Forman a no consent to capture or storage of facial biometrics, declined to train their AI with my face and expressed non trust of their conviction to keep any of that secure. Wore a neck gaiter and pulled it over my face between opening my door and covering the lens with masking tape. Nothing has happened yet. Hope it chaps the ass of every company yes man in this thread.

Anti-yesman joins union 🤣🤣🤣

break up every union and break up every large corporation with over 1000 employees

So at first I was like "Stop being a baby" but I guess if I really think about it I would not want a camera on me at my job all day long.

With that said, I would still just suck it up and work.

Yeah, you should probably find another gig. There are still some businesses out there that rely less on technology to ensure efficiency, but they will become obsolete soon enough. Like myself, Im assuming you are of a generation that needs to continue focusing on crucial retirement benefits. That should be weighed much more heavily than the cameras IMO, unless you have something to hide. Or if you have retirement funding on lock, then definitely go and work somewhere that you enjoy.

They fight for our rights under the contract they negotiate for and represent people who are wrongly fired. Management at the city are so dumb they had to give 3 people back pay for the last year to 3 employees who were wrongfully terminated.

I am. With masking tape over the camera lens......if they write me up and it sticks I'm moving on.
I’m anxious to see how that plays out. I like that path - doesn’t prevent you from doing your job - will be interesting to see if the union has your back if something does go south and also will be interesting to see how long it take them to notice!

1000 employees isn’t even that large. I’m genuinely curious why you think society would be better if we only had companies under 1000 employees?
Can you image the airlines having to break up? Delta has 36,000 employees just in Atlanta, GA let alone the entire U.S.

Are we going to add 35 airlines in just Altlanta to meet the "under 1,000 employees" threshold? It'd actually be closer to 350 airlines in Atlanta to meet the "under 1,000 employees" threshold country wide. Haha.

There wont be any aircraft, so long term, this won't be a problem.

Was informed 8 months ago that a new camera surveillance system was going into all trucks where I work. Contract states they have a right to surveillance so I had no protest and just let the Union do their job. They came to an agreeement that as long as faces were blurred and management had them in their trucks as well, we as a Union would not fight it.

Had surgery mid November. I was out for eight weeks and came back to them being installed. For the Union side of things, they are not in all of the Foreman trucks and they also don't blur out faces. Also come to find out that there is AI facial recognition involved. As soon as I get in a truck the system is supposed to assign me to the truck and if the system wrongly identifies me, the Foreman is to correct the mistake so the AI can learn. All this without prior warning or prior consent. I don't know where they are keeping my biometric data.

I'm sure I have no recourse except for to just leave the job. Which I'm prepared to do.
I think resistance is futile. It's going to become a way of life whether we like it or even know about it.

one thing I'll say in favor of companies monitoring their employees. I've seen multiple trucks driving down the interstate swerving from side to side. When I've gotten up the nerve to zip by their speed governed asses I invariably see some asshole staring at this phone. Undoubtedly he's bored and watching videos or on social media. It's an epidemic and I don't know how companies can stop it. I called one time on a plumber's van that was doing this. The company had their name on the side of the van and I memorized the number and called them a little later and asked them to at least talk to the driver. He damned near ran me off the interstate. I've called 911 twice on obviously drunk truckers on I-29. Once they had me follow the guy with my flashers on for about 20 miles until a trooper could get there. It was 10 at night, dark and he didn't have tail lights. There's some bad stuff out there. A street sweeper though........mmmaybe not necessary.

I don't disagree on the phone usage while driving. I saw someone in a Burtons van on 680 just last week and thought of my situation. If it was just to surveillance me I would still have issues with being "watched" but probably wouldn't go this route. Issue is it's everyone driving. Yesterday while plowing i can't give you a number of people I saw intentionally gunning through red lights, looking at phone while driving, etc. This camera system goes both ways so they can see who is at fault. If only they didn't include the AI and my biometric data being captured and stored by an entity i know will not be responsible with it, this wouldn't really be that big of an issue for me.

Unfortunately, I'll probably be on a sabbatical soon.

I've had multiple chicks go by me over 80mph on I-29 and they'll never look up from their phone. I see them coming and watch their face in my mirror then look over as they go by. I'll lay on the horn and some of them never even flinch. These aren't cars that would have the self driving options. My wife thinks I'm a prick for honking at them.

In the Bible, Revelation 13:17 says, "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name".
I wonder what the image of the First Beast will be where the Second Beast will give breath of life to, so that the image can speak?

I had reservations about the cameras but was going to defer to what the Union President agreed to. They weren't forthcoming about biometric data being stored using AI facial recognition with this camera system. I feel absolutely disgusted.
Don't ever look at your phone or join a video call with your camera on.

I don't use face unlock or do video calls, but this is completely different than an unresponsible organization storing my facial biometric data, eventually having said system determining my mood from my facial expressions or having the system determine health situations of the entire work force.

My health insurance isn't dictated by shit. Your reading comprehension sucks. I already said they already had GPS on everything and this isn't about simple surveillance if you read the thread again this is about AI facial recognition. There are already States telling micromanaging companies they have to inform and gain consent to capture employees biometric data. There are already States that have laws that citizens and employees have domain over their biometric data. I guarantee most States will follow suit and Pillen wants to sign something similar. So learn to read and f*** off until you do.
Maybe next time just say you never had a corp job in the private sector where you received a very nice company car (covered car & health insurance) as part of your compensation package and be done with it.

Taxes have become outright criminal. Hopefully this gets corrected soon as more and more are becoming aware of the grift
I am generally anti-taxes, but that is primarily because of the ridiculous misappropriation of tax funds. I have no problem paying SOME taxes, minimal taxes, to help keep the roads in good condition, to fund for all Americans to have a basic level of healthcare provided to them for no cost, for our military to be funded, for all schools to have the resources they need and the teachers to be paid SIGNIFICANTLY more to deal with the shitheads of today's youth (I was one myself 20-25 years ago). The essential important things to the fabric of society. Our tax dollars are spent on stupid stuff on both sides of the aisle.

Anyone who served in the military is very likely familiar with the term "mass punishment." For example, if I had 1 Marine show up 1 minute late, then all 37 of my Marines now have to show up 30 minutes earlier from the previous show time. If I had 1 Marine go out of bounds of the liberty mileage limits, then all 37 of my Marines would be restricted in their liberty privileges. I don't agree with the principle, and didn't punish that way, but many "leaders" do. With that, why the hell can't we use that "mass punishment" logic against the government? You want to waste billions of tax dollars on stupid things, you get less tax dollars. Why do we reward shitty spending with more money? I will never understand that.
