One year from today

You can’t fire frost if he’s above .500 next year. Again, we’ve done the new coach thing 5 times now, it doesn’t work. Time for some stability and see how things shake out. A fifth losing season and it’s over. Anything 6-6 or better and he stays. That’s reality for this program right now whether we like it or not.
You absolutely can and must. Your own words in this thread above were "no excuses, win or end it." That is correct. It will be year 5. It is now 100% frosts players. The expectations should be sky high next season. Scott frost was not hired to go 6-6 and 5 seasons is very fair to any coach. We've been fair to him. It is now time he delivers for us.

You’re truly a dumbass if you think that was what made his decision. That was a talking point to the media.

The decision was based on money and not having ideal candidates lined up to take the job.
No question. It’s unfortunate because more disappointing losses are on the horizon for NU until Trev finds his guy and can finally cut ties with Frost at the end of next year. It’s a long term project for Trev—there’s no quick fix. We’re stuck for one more year until we see big changes.

Win or end it means different things. Win more than you lose counts at this point. Frost won’t be fired if he’s above .500 next year. Continued improvement will be the standard for the next few years. Like it or not. We’ve been down so long, the bar is lowered. That’s reality. You don’t turn this place around with a big hire. We’ve proven that.

A year from now, Huskers will be 5-7, but SO close we can feel it. They are finally getting it and really look great in practice. If not for those seven teams that ran a different defense than they did in the Spring game or stupidly ran it fifty times on that really windy day, Frost's men would have been undefeated. NEXT NEXT season they will be awesome. I hear they will have a stud QB coming in that year.

Trev's main job is to hire quality coaches. If he can't do that, he has no business being the Athletic Director here.

KU only has a better future than Nebraska in football if the loser participation ribbon culture takes over NU football.

The only way out is high expectations, which is what any blue blood would expect. The fact that anyone is talking about 6-6 being acceptable next year is ridiculous
8 wins minimum or his ass should be shown the door. If we aren't bowl eligible by October 1 he needs to be shown the door that morning.

This years schedule and next years are nothing alike. We had one of the hardest schedules I’ve ever seen this year. No excuses next year. Win or end it
Nebraska was the betting favorite in 4 of the 9 losses. Don’t give me that schedule crap.

Agree with you on Frost which is why the bar should be set very high next year.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that a 6-6 record means that Nebraska went 4-5 in the Big Ten as two non-con games are gimme wins. Furthermore, next year we have Indiana and Rutgers as crossover games which should be 2 wins. Meaning If we go 6-6 next year, not only did we have a losing record in the Big Ten, we also had a losing record in the big ten West.

Under no circumstance should Frost be retained next year at 6-6. Hell, he shouldn’t be retained at 7-5 either imo
What have you seen over the past 4 years that would make you think Indiana or Rutgers are wins?

Nope. We havent been down for long. 8 of the 10 seasons before frost took over were 9 win seasons. Time frost wins at the pace we expect. He absolutely should be fired at 7-5 next year. Five years is more than fair to produce a winner. 6 wins was supposed to be the floor. You cant just keep pushing that out. Next year 8 wins minimum or bye bye

I agree with you that we will find a way to lose at least 1.

I was talking about EXPECTATIONS. Our fan base is becoming more and more pathetic with each loss. I almost expect them to say “oh well, we lost to Rutgers, but at least we played hard.”

Frost in year 5 should be expected to kick Rutgers and Indianas ass, and if he doesn’t it’s yet another justification to fire him

Because it’s not arbitrary. The only two games that are really tough are Oklahoma at home and at Michigan. I’m giving Frost some grace with 1 additional loss beyond those two games.

Next year needs to be all about wins. No more of this “close” shit. Meaning we better go 4-0 against Minnesota, NW, Purdue and Illinois
9-3? Yea because we have done so well vs our own division. We haven’t beat Iowa and Wisconsin in about a decade now.
