Official NCAA Football Championship Game Thread

Mostly due to the food porn.

This is the one and only official thread.

So who wins? Huskies or Cheaters?
I have a difficult time caring about any game a week after New Year's Day. I probably won't even watch it.

But the whining cheaters from Michigan will win, including the LB that they recruited off NU's team in the middle of last season.

Yes, I agree. I think Michigan’s lines will be the difference. And I have a hard time getting motivated to see the ultimate cheaters get rewarded.

Whoever ends up better upfront will get the win. UW has the award for best offensive line but their D line isn’t close to being as good as the Michigan D line. Think that is the difference but will be a close game.

I was openly rooting for Alabama and Nick Saban last week. That is something that I thought I would never do. Harbaugh and Michigan are the ultimate heels in the athletic world. They cheat in multiple ways, try to lie & cover it up, get caught anyway, and deny everything and cry about it all day/every day.

I defy anyone to find a more hated person or group than Michigan.

I'm cheering on the Huskies to save Michigan from another asterisk NC. Sorry, Michigan shouldn't even be there based on there coach being suspended twice in the same season for cheating. How can the playoff committee throw undefeated FSU out of the playoffs on the grounds "they aren't the same team that started the season", but reward a team penalized for cheating? Makes no sense.

I hope the Huskies win as well. I laugh too at how Michigan says they have 9 Natty's. The Natty really needs to be looked at post probably 1960 or 1970. Anything before that is just dumb as it was just the wild west and anyone could "claim" a title.

I posted here last week before the semis that UW were +720 to win the whole thing.

I'm holding that ticket, and believe they'll win.

not sure I'll hedge. probably just let it ride.

should be a good game. styles make fights, after all

A little side note for the game tonight:
Both Washington and Michigan last national championship’s won were shared..

1991 the Huskies shared the title with Miami Fla. That year Nebraska only two losses were against both co national champions.

1997 Michigan shared the national title with Nebraska..

Tonights winner will win the title outright..

That's akin to painting over wood. You just don't do it.

IF you have to have something to go with your filet, might I suggest another filet?
Yeah, a good filet doesn't need any condiments. I would get the bearnaise on the side and just eat it with the veggies.

I'm hoping for the Huskies to upset Michigan. Michigan doesn't deserve a damn thing. Like I said before, they didn't cheat 1 or 2 games. They have had the upper hand against all their opponents for 3 frickin years. Michigan has cheated all those opposing players, their parents and all those coaching staffs and most of all they cheated me and you. They should be banned from post season for at least 3 years.

And if you think they haven't cheated in some way to get the upper hand tonight, you would be wrong. Cheaters always find a way to cheat. If Michigan does win tonight, congratulations to all Michigan players, coaches and fans ... you cheated and won.. pat yourself on the back.

for the Michigan Definitely Cheated crowd:

how do you level those accusations while simultaneously brushing aside the alleged involvement of said cheating with our current OC's two best games he's ever coached?

it was alleged that Michigan also dabbled in a bit of chicanery with regards to who made last year's playoff in the form of sharing signs with a common opponent of both Tennessee and Clemson - South Carolina - so that they'd be eliminated from contention and thus Michigan wouldn't have to face them.

the result was more than 1,000 yards of offense and 90+ points scored by a South Carolina team that had previously shown zero ability to perform to those levels under Satt.

happy coincidence? sour grapes? too far fetched?

I am genuinely curious. will hang up and listen.

Cheaters dominate both LOS and severely limit UW’s possessions and opportunities. On offense they’ll effectively run the ball 70% of their snaps and bludgeon UW to the tune of a 14-17 pt win.

you put zero stock in the fact UW has the best OL in all of college football?

Penix has been sacked just 11 times all season.

Like I said in a previous thread, if Michigan limits mistakes and plays to their strengths, which is pounding the rock, this game shouldn't be all that close. It's a bad matchup for Washington.

That being said, Penix is the real deal and would instantly make several NFL teams better right now. And they have an elite WR corps. If Penix has time and starts picking apart that Michigan secondary, it may be a long night for the Wolverines.

I don’t think they actually have the best o-line in the country. Penix’s accuracy and lighting quick release has made them look better statistically then they are. Michigan’s secondary will play press coverage on most passing downs, Penix will have to hold the ball longer than he’s had too all season, and the Michigan DL and LBs will get to Penix. I mean, I hope I’m wrong, but that what I see happening. Cheaters will be too physical for UW.

Had no idea our OC did that but if true he shouldn't be on our staff.

As far as the other example you listed..."alleged" doesn't mean anything to me without context and or more info....who alleged it, is it credible, etc...bottom line even if true, doesn't excuse Michigans cheating now.

I think the game hinges on whether or not Washington can stop Cheatigan's run game. Even a little bit.
I feel like Cheatigan can just run the ball on them all day long.

If Michigan holds onto the ball. I could see them scoring on almost every possession. Maybe not all TDs, couple of FGs in there. That being said I don’t see this as a terribly high scoring game, Michigan is going to bleed clock and limit possessions. Thinking something like 27-13 or maybe like 37-17.

It's the only post-season game that is must watch, IMO. The only other post-season game I have watched was Bama/Michigan. All the bowl games have no meaning. Imagine next year when there is a 12-team playoff.

No idea who wins this. Think it will be close game either way.

Rather dislike Michigan and Harbaugh so will be rooting for the Huskies. On the flip side I know a few obnoxious Ohio State alum so it's always good to have more ammo to annoy them with. Guess either side winning has it's advantages. Lolz.

Michigan 34
Washington 30

I'm thinking the same, anytime a great offense like Washington has runs up against a solid defense like Michigan's D it usually ends with the defense on top.

Hope I'm wrong but I don't see any way the Washington QB having a good game against that D of Michigan.
