NU vs. Indiana & Ohio State baseball pod

Going to the bottom of the 8th in Ann Arbor. Still 7-3 Maryland.
In another game of interest, Iowa's NCAA hopes keep fading and could die today with a loss to Northwestern. Bottom of the third in Evanston: Wildcats 4, Yellow Birds 0.

Wrong call by the first base ump. But no way he could see it so I ll give him a pass. TV had better angle

Stick a fork in Herky their done..Their RPI is dropping like a rock..

So we get NW to come to Lincoln for a midweek game? That's the only one missing for us.
Can we play Ioway again!

Mise well they wouldn’t let us play Creighton and another win would look good of the résumé..

Looks like Ohio State, NW and Minnesota and Purdue have the least amount of games played. Probably the bucknuts driving this then.

They need to put graphic up with game totals for all teams
Assuming no cancellations between now and the end of next week, here are the game totals:
  1. Nebraska 43
  2. Maryland 44
  3. Michigan 44
  4. Indiana 44
  5. Iowa 44
The only game involving a contender that hasn't been played was the NW-Nebraska game.

If Nebraska holds on today, here will be the standings for the contenders going into the OSU-Indiana games tonight and Monday:
  1. Nebraska 29-11 (Worst possible would be 29-14)
  2. Maryland 26-15 (Best possible 29-15)
  3. Michigan 26-15 (Best possible 29-15)
  4. Indiana 24-15 (Best possible 29-15)
However, let's say Nebraska loses to Northwestern (if there's that makeup) and gets swept by Michigan, Nebraska would finish in a tie with Michigan and possibly with Maryland or Indiana, if one of those teams sweeps that series.

I thought I had read that the best overall win percentage would be crowned the winner. We'll call it the OSU football exception — because it's a weird season, the regular rules may not apply.

However, because this is Nebraska, the OSU rule doesn't apply apparently. Play 'em all.

Bring on the 'Cats Tuesday and clinch it in Lincoln.

Michigan must be lobbying hard. This conference is a joke.
Could be or osu trying to pick up some gimme games. Not really anyone above them needs to make up many games. Osu trying to get more wins/ less losses than iowa perhaps and lobby on name

Apparently the Wisconsin volleyball rule doesn't apply either. If it did, the Big Ten would quietly deem the Northwestern game a forfeit. No announcement or explanation, just put up a W (or in that case, two Ws) for your darling program and move on.

Not sure if there is any substance is behind this report. But if this lead holds and the Big Ten does add games, there's no amount of BS they can shovel that will convince anyone the games were not added in response to Nebraska clinching the title.
