In Your Head
KU has a great backcourt but a weak frontcourt. Also, they are better than average on their home court. Can we ugly it up enough for a win?

We're a 20 point dog and unless we see some sign of perimeter shooting from this Miles team, I expect this to be like the Creighton game ecpecially if we start out like we did last Wednesday night.

To the original question: No! As much as NU fans would like to see success on the hardwood, I'm afraid it is not going to happen with these coaches. I base that upon past recruiting and the results those players have shown on the court. I just don't see the talent level and when we are lucky enough to nab a talented player I don't see the schemes and coaching that would utilize that talent to the benefit of the whole team. It is a team game and from what I have seen, Miles will get a good player and then ride him like a rented mule to the exclusion of the other players....i.e; Pettaway and White and now to some extent Webster. The big question is why can't Miles get the better players and does he even possess the ability as a coach to compete in the Big 10?

NU has the same chance of winning the Creighton game that is already over that they do of beating Kansas today.

After today we can brag that 3 of five losses were to top 10 teams, and the other two were choked away. Whatever that's worth.

we are never going to qualify for the NIT if we are scheduling the likes of Kansas out of conference

Not a chance. I am not sure how we are going to score against them. Our lack of of anything offensive against their great defense is an embarrassing mismatch. I will be surprised if we can score 60 points, unless they put the walk-ons in early. We won't be able to stop their dribble/drive penetration and Jordy is our only rim protector. Mason will get to the rim with ease. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jordy foul out in under 15 minutes and if Webster is matched up against Jackson he could also see early foul trouble. Luckily this year their bigs are not good offensively this year but they rebound, block shots and play physical D.

This is a terrible match-up for us. They have better coaching, players and experience. Bill Self is gonna run circles around Miles today.

Your crazy! Isaiah Roby, Glynn Watson, Ed Morrow... Don't show you the talent level is up? You obviously have no clue what "talent" looks like

Just shoot a boatload of threes. If very few go in and NU loses by 30, we can always say the shots were there, they just weren't falling.

Oh, and I hasten to add that we're young. Really young.

I think dingle is that parent at little league games that yells 'just throw strikes' after every pitch.

We actually started the game running some nice offensive sets and getting the ball inside to Morrow for easy baskets. But why the hell is Jacobson guarding Jackson instead of Webster? That might be the biggest mismatch I've ever seen.

Wait - Jacobson was guarding someone?

I dislike the tribble drive O and our D is aweful. we always seem to be playing from the side or behind and we give up way too many easy shots. still they are hanging around for now

same old "offense" one man with the ball, dribbling for 20 seconds, taking it to the rack with 4 others standing around.

Jacobson is just awful this year. Seems like all the muscle he put on has just made him more slow and uncoordinated.

My biggest complaint against Miles. Nebraska has to work too damn hard for almost every basket. There have been a half dozen examples of Kansas using ball movement to get good, makeable shots. Nebraska just doesn't do that much.

Sometimes, the offense reminds me of competitive rec center pick-up basketball with one guy trying to score all the points.

Fuller getting minutes over Roby, you can't make this stuff up. White flag raised, in the first half.
