He just needs to tone it down so he doesn't have to keep going in and editing his words. He likes to say one thing and then when called out on it, pretend like he didn't say it.
We all say shit we shouldn't, at the end of the day you need to own it. Not just edit it like you didn't say it in the first place.
Benning deserves some slack regarding his HC record. He was trying to resurrect Northwest, an awful program before he got there (thank you, NSAA transfer rules). I give him credit for trying to bring something positive to those kids and that school.
I already told him he needs to acknowledge that you were right and he was wrong.
He got mixed up on who committed suicide and who didn't, then he doubled down on it.
If he keeps doing that shit, he's gonna keep getting scrutinized.

85 class had the great Doug Wemhoff that led us to 2 state championships. I was 86 so I definitely would have known your brother.

I don't know what's funnier...someone calling Millard South a "hood school" or people getting very upset about Millard South being called a "hood school."
Biggest disappointment of the football season so far is the fact that his "Saquon Barkley moment" was a penalty because you can't hurdle in HS football. JFC. What a baller.
Props to the players of that class B game. Pretty epic battle. #2 for both teams left it on the field.

Bennington got hosed late by the officials. They need to get a bond passed to split up that high school. It was nice to see a school full of kids that live in the district though
Graduated in '91. Had a ton of friends from Millard South, we had fun but super competitive rivalry back in the day in sports. Lots of parties back in the day with both MN and MS students hanging out together....Still really good buddies with several Indians that I've known since grade school 😉....

Turman does a nice job at Omaha Skutt. But if he brought his whole staff with him, I wonder what his won-loss record would be at Omaha Northwest? And yes, that would never happen, but my point is that there is "more than winning" when it comes to successful coaching. I would bet that Benning's best coaching took place at Northwest rather than Omaha North or Westside.
