Ne-Bracketology

Lets get real. Nebraska would be lucky to finish 12th in that league this year.
I think Nebraska probably finishes around 8th or 9th in the ACC, in the Louisville-Florida State range. But I would expect the resident Duke honk to contend otherwise.

Hell, Pitt probably would have won the Big Ten this year, right?

Can't really argue with Lunardi here. If another team had our resume (58 RPI, only one Quadrant 1 win), none of us would think they were deserving of an at-large bid.
I definitely would not argue that Nebraska "deserves" a bid. I just think they'll be better than a handful of the at-large teams that do get picked.

And I still maintain that if Wisconsin had precisely the same resume, the TV talking heads would be falling all over themselves to argue that you can't leave out the team that finished 4th in the Big Ten. Andy Katz would probably go on a hunger strike, or threaten to set himself on fire.

Except usually Kansas....

Now they have a key injury entering the conference tournament.

Yeah, that is true. I guess I think more of them choking with some teams I thought for sure would win the NC. Kind of a victim of their own success type thing. They have a great history in March.

Our old pal Doc Sadler might help someone steal a bid. Southern Miss is beating Middle Tennessee.

Wow Doc Sadler pulls off the huge upset. Will Middle Tennessee get an at-large bid? They are 29th in RPI but have zero Top 50 wins.

2 titles in 50 years and 1 was because the other team couldnt make a free throw and Kansas hit a prayer

FWIW - since 1990 Kansas has as many titles as the entire Big ten conference - 1. Since 1990 the big ten and big 12 have 1 national title the fewest of any conference. The big 12s title was more recent. Kansas 2008. MSU - 2000.

The big hasnt even had a team reach the final 8 the last 2 years.

How about since 1975? Kansas is the Purdue of college basketball. Good, but its hard for them to be great.

Hell, since 1965, Michigan has 1 NC and has been the runner up 5 times. Even MSU has 2 nattys. And Indiana 3. In that time frame.

Auburn finally makes a basket in the 2 half took 10:15 to make a FG..Bama down 10 at the half is now up by 17.

Bama is getting in now.

Yep. Been watching most of this game. Needed this and the CU/providence game to go the other way. One of the rare times I have rooted for a Brice Pearl team.

Providence beats Xavier in OT. If there was any doubt about the Friars getting in, that probably seals it.

Boston College finished 12th in that league. That's exactly about where Nebraska would be looking in that conference.

Nebraska is not as good as Florida St or Louisville. You're living in lala land.

While I don't think anyone in his right mind would argue that Nebraska is in a class with the top 6 or 7 teams in the ACC, they beat Boston College comfortably and BC managed 7 conference wins. That's why I don't think NU would be "lucky" to finish 12th.

But that obviously can't compete with your standard, go-to "Because I said so!!!" argument. Anyone who's ever disagreed with you on anything is always completely out of his mind and has probably never seen a game in his entire life.

I wonder how many fans across the country are watching hoping URI comes back and beats St Joes?
