More positive pub about Tanner Lee...

Double edged sword. If he has the season we hope he can, there's a good chance he's one and done (at least for us, he'll actually be five and done).

Stop, OP. Lee threw way too many picks at Tulane, he hasn't played cfb in 2 years, his hair is too nice, these NFL scouts don't know anything about football, he's replacing a legend at QB, he walks funny, he doesn't listen to the right music, he's not a good runner, etc. Lee is going to be terrible

What's the right music? ;)

Please, please, please let these guys be right

I hope he is good. He's the starter. He has my support.

There are plenty of times I have been frustrated with TA making simple passes.

Other than the arm strength via the deep bomb, TA's passing was never great (huge heart, good mobility skills were his best assets).

There's money to be made from 4th best QB to the top QB. I hope he's as advertised, and wants to stay another year. 2018 would be very interesting if that all comes true.

It's just too bad guys like Cethan, Westerkamp, Reilly, Moore, etc. didn't have a QB like this throwing to them. We finally get a pro-caliber arm at QB but no depth at WR.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, when you start looking at all the names on the list of QB's, it is pretty impresive.

I think you nailed the troll manifesto; nicely done. Its good they are around; phase two when he performs, they will be pointing out ; how they were a driving inspiration in improvements.

This is basically just Savage regurgitating what he already said...
Thanks genius... but guess what? It's a different news source, different part of the country...

Just chafes, doesn't it? The fact that he could be a first rounder? Just be a fan and enjoy the ride. It may not last, but if it does, it's gonna be fun. Don't know why that is so hard for you.

Are you saying this because you think Lee is being overhyped or are you saying this because you really do think the OP is redundant? If the latter, why do you care and why say anything unless you are trying to throw cold water on a positive thread about our new QB? So either way, it seems to me, you are going out of your way to dampen enthusiasm for Lee. Why? Why would a Husker fan do that when every valid talent analyst who has observed Lee has said essentially the same thing: "Wow".

Positive preseason publicity and hype for Nebraska by national media has been almost non existent for years now. So all of the buzz around Lee, exaggerated or not, should be greeted by Husker fans with enthusiasm. And who knows how the season will unfold? If Lee puts up great numbers he will be in the conversation for post season honors. And that is a process that begins in the preseason with the kind of hype you seem to dislike.

Well if you listen to Landgsdorf's comment on BTN Live,,,

"Our quarterback position is hitting a high percentage of throws, they are completing their checkdowns, and looking like a quarterback should look"

(and then, you could almost hear him breathing a big sigh of relief and muttering, FINALLY!!!!)

I liked how Diaco didn't even say Notre Dame. He said that school is used to be at. Lol

Hey. Just a heads up on the RB thread about seperation. I was curious what you thought about Stoltenberg and Neal sitting out practices. Is your opinion of them the same, or was it simply more shitting on everything?

Apparently some bad blood when he left for UCONN
The UCONN people were ready for him to go. I am not sure his fit is as a HC, although I assume he'll try again some time. He seems to be in his element as a DC. The comments he made about being in the box during games, locking in with no distractions. That's a guy who wants to be pulling the defensive levers and it's something a HC cannot do.
We'll see what Edsall can do now that he's back in Storrs. He had some decent success during the end of the Big East days. Folks up there are not really Saturday football people. Pats and Giants, a few Jets fans.

The bad blood was between him and ND when he left for UCONN. That is why he doesn't mention them by name. Just as "the school I was at before I was a head coach"

I see it as a good thing that TLee is getting good pub.

On a side note, the top 3 prospects:

Rosen - led UCLA to a 4-8 record.
Darnold - led USC to a 10-3 record.
Allen - led Wyoming to an 8-6 record.

Out of these 3 leading QB's, only Darnold at USC led his team to anything significant (and Darnold really only played in 1 of the losses). So, does NU's record this year hold much weight when it comes to the question of TLee declaring for the draft?

Rosen was a true freshman all American in 2015. Passing for 3600 yards 60% 23tds and 11int. Last year he was injured and out for over half of the season. Last year UCLA was 3-2 with him and 1-5 without. They also lost the game he was injured in by 3

This is why his comments about learning from Riley being an honor didn't come off to me as the usual coachspeak tripe. He talked about learning from him how to be patient and more of a gentleman, stuff like that. When Diaco was coach at UCONN he always seemed to be kind of a jerk. Perhaps HCMR will help him take off some of the rough edges and help him be a big picture guy, and he will be more effective at his next HC gig.

Nicely done. In one game I watched USC play; it didn't seem like they could ever lose another game with that qb. So it seems pretty startling to look back on these records; as the new season starts to flow. ... I would say if TLee puts up great stats and leadership, N is the perfect stage. Even if we lost 4 games, if they were hard fought and competitive - for the pros, it would be his performance in this, that would make all the difference. The rating of the above qb's a case in point.
If we do break through to play for the conference title, with this schedule; we are really on the map. It will cement our qb recruiting for some time if we have a couple soaring in national and draft status. A side note, if the Cally schools don't break through more; our recruiting in Calif could take off - even more. GBR
