Mo Washington seems to be in trouble

Even if he wasn't in the video or shot the video, you cannot hold video or photos of someone who is a minor or a minor at the time of the video. That's why child pornography is getting brought up. Also the OP's article it states that California has a "revenge porn" law prohibiting Mo from doing what he did.

That is what is actually up for debate as to whether this constitutes " revenge porn " he didn't send it to other people with intent to get revenge on his ex...he only sent it to his ex. I have already asked a friend of mine that is a retired judge and he claims it might not be a crime. Now whether or not he could get charged with possession of child pornography is definitely a possibility. I would be surprised if he would get charged with anything other than a misdemeanor as a charge of distribution or possession would get reduced via plea bargain.

"Bitterly sending the video back to her" may very well end up being the worst thing done in this entire story. It certainly would be if it turns out the act on the video was consensual. Well, the guys in the video would be guilty of sharing child porn too. Kid made a big mistake.
Not enough of one to warrant a punishment that many on here think he should get.

Do you? He also wrote 2%-8%. So which is it?

I think the writer got confused with the 40% number as only about 40% of rapes are ever reported to the police. I've read some of the sources & none of them claim 40% which is why I'm asking what sources are actually claiming 40%? I know you haven't done any research so I suggest you get on it.

I gave you a source. If you want the source's sources, then that's on you. I doubt he was confused on the numbers.

Gotcha & I agree, it may not constitute as "revenge porn".

Just read in an article that he is 19 as of right now, which means that when he sent the video to the girl in March of 2018, he was 18. An adult sharing child porn via text or e-mail..

I feel sort of guilty for thinking this, but we better cross our fingers that Mills is ready to go.

The “rapist” got probation.
I think he got probation for distributing the video under the revenge porn law, not for rape. Those would be new charges if she pursues them, my understanding is that charges for sexual assault have not been brought in relation to that incident.

Really, your asking this, he isn’t dismissed from the team up to this point..
Perhaps you'd like to give me your emotional recovery itinerary? I could then properly decide a better time to ask the question. Imo, this kid should not be on the team any longer than last march.

Oh I'm sure they'll take your feelings into consideration when they take a closer look at the case.

"You knowk Burt, a gentleman named red-one21 on a football message board feels that this isn't a very serious offense. Why don't you go unlock the Washington kid and ask him to promise to never do it again and he can be home by dinner time."

You should probably stop posting now. The guy is guilty of sharing child porn as an adult, as well as revenge porn in California. I'm guessing the state of California doesn't agree with you.

Everyone that suggests he should be kicked off the team
I guess I took them as believing his actions aren't up to Nebraska Football's standards & not worth keeping around. Not a sexual predator.

contrary to what many think, we aren't the 'league'.

there are in the neighborhood of 28,000 students, more than half are young women with parents, siblings, relatives. The safety of their loved one when they send them to the good ole University trumps anything that happens in the 'league'. There should be no tolerance for being Father Flanigan or bringing people who endanger a community to the campus.

IF this is true, it isn't defensible or justifiable in any way, shape or form...regardless of how apologetic we're tempted to be for Frost, Washington, or the 'Program'. Sadly, reading this thread makes me beleive I live amongst a bunch of neanderthals
What concerns me is that people are willing to crucify a young man based off of an accusation, without due process. I worry about young people growing up today. Less than a month ago verified accounts on twitter were calling for covington catholic students to be locked in their school while it burns to the ground and were telling their twitter followers to fire upon the boys on site. These people faced no repercussions Washington's accuser if proven wrong will face no repercussions. Brett Kavanaugh was 'credibly accused' and people were calling for him to be murdered and for his life to be ruined. I shudder at the fact that we have a contingent here that wants to ruin a young african-american man's life based off one article you read on the internet.

Yes, b/c I have an opinion I think that the prosecutor will take my opinion into consideration. You should probably get a life message board tough guy. I sure get a lot of likes for my posts.

I would let the chips fall where they may in this matter, let things run their course and see what happens. I'm sure he will get his day in court so to speak, and the decisions will be either made in his favor or against him. We shall see.

Of course Mo should be given a chance to defend himself, but unless Mo flat out didn't send that girl the text video & saying "remember this hoe" then there's not much going for him.

I don't believe this is a "he said / she said" case (Kavanaugh) or facts are being misrepresented (Convington Catholic). Either he sent the text or he didn't.

I’m a rational conservative, but when a credible woman accuses a potential Supreme Court justice of such a thing the vetting process should’ve been a hell of a lot deeper. That position should be of the highest integrity and shouldn’t have been forced through quickly, but I’m sure many on here bitching were perfectly fine with his appointment.

Good Lord, did you even watch the video of the Catholic School kids? At very least they were guilty of mocking the native American group, and the main kid was a little SOB challenging the older man, and deserves everything that comes his way. The smirk on his face tells you he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. And BTW, what responsible school administration provides their students with MAGA hats???

Did you Miss the Black Muslims chastising the Catholic boys in the back round?

They werent mocking him..,that dude was a lying piece of crap.

What was the kid suppose to do when a grown man walks up to him and bangs a drum in his face.

Some things I am noticing from this thread that I think are important to mention:

1.) It's all about how Frost wants to manage his program. He's not an easily intimidated guy, and he seems to have a fairly strong moral compass. If he wants to make an example of Mo to show what will or will not be tolerated, I am all for it. Whatever that may be.

2.) Mo did something really stupid. Trashy, and stupid. Whether or not it was illegal remains to be seen.

3.) Who assaulted who is not germane to the discussion about our player, as he is not accused of that.

4.) Relax on the angry feminist thing; women all over the country have had their rights and their stories swept under the rug since forever. They have the right to have these things treated differently than they were in the past.

This is an allegation that will be dealt with by due process of law, with legal council for M. Washington and no doubt a prosecuting attorney. Off the cuff allegations and accusations against Washington before the legal system deals with this issue are of course the right of people under free speech, but are irresponsible. Our society in the U.S. - and our collegiate education system is being damaged by people in authority who are unwilling to protect the rights of the accused who are not proven to be guilty. Look at the Duke Lacrosse players, etc. for examples.

18 year old is an adult, he sent the child porn as an adult. He kept a video for 3 years on his phone. If it was just a random group of 15 year olds, he is going to jail and registering as a sex offender.

Right, but it wasn't, Tuco. I can see this being ruled as mean and tasteless but not necessarily "illegal," in that it wasn't distributed for entertainment value, i.e. meeting the definition of "porn."
