Who else? Mazour? Bradley? Neither of those guys should be starting in P5 conferences.
its posted on 247 the university did respond and Washingtons attorney said they are fully cooperating
Let it play through , I'm sure not going to be the first one to cast the stone
contrary to what many think, we aren't the 'league'.
there are in the neighborhood of 28,000 students, more than half are young women with parents, siblings, relatives. The safety of their loved one when they send them to the good ole University trumps anything that happens in the 'league'. There should be no tolerance for being Father Flanigan or bringing people who endanger a community to the campus.
IF this is true, it isn't defensible or justifiable in any way, shape or form...regardless of how apologetic we're tempted to be for Frost, Washington, or the 'Program'. Sadly, reading this thread makes me beleive I live amongst a bunch of neanderthals
Rapist would be sent to a juvenile detention center, not just probation. Mo was wrong for sending it back to her, that’s it. I don’t think that is enough to warrant kicking him off the team. Especially since he was still a minor.
Dude, no one is off the rails. Just calling out dumb posts.
They aren't relevant, but do you think in the climate of the Me Too movement that women's groups won't get ahold of this and come for blood? The climate is much much more sensitive now than it was 25 years ago. For goodness sakes, "Baby It's Cold Outside," one of the most innocent songs ever, was removed from circulation by rabid feminists.
I honestly have no idea.
Even the writer didn't reference the percentages he listed.
How many on here think their daughters would admit to concentually having a 3 some to daddy after it becomes common knowledge amongst an entire school. How many guys would tape a rape, then brag about it to they’re peers? Mo was wrong for sending it, but he’s not a rapist or child porn manufacturer. What if it was consensual and Mo is bitter about what she did? Then she continued to reach out to him and he made a mistake by sending the video. Put the pitchforks away people.
I'm all good with taking away Twitter, et al. If you want to play football, no twitter. If twitter is more important, don't play football. Your choice.
Ahhh yes, sending a video directly to the person in the video basically telling them to leave you alone is the same as rape and sexual assault.
Not in the eyes of the press and/or women's groups. Do we know for sure he was a minor? Didn't he send it sometime just prior to last fall? That would likely make him 18.
This is exactly the jumpstart the huskers needed. We're back. Just a few days ago, we knew we were a good felony away from the top 10. Ask and ye shall receive!!!!
So just a slap on the wrist? Don't be stupid. It doesn't matter if it was consensual or if he was bitter. Frankly, it sounds to me like the circumstances of the video are a little fishy...but that won't excuse MW from sending the video to the girl a few years after the fact.
He was 18, he was not a minor when he sent it.
What possible reason would he have to text her the video saying, "remember this hoe."???
I'm not saying that warrants being kicked off the team, but come on. That deserves some stone throwing.
Having child porn on your phone is illegal. It doesn’t matter if you 18 or 88. Sending that child porn over the airwaves, also a crime. Do so 3 months after you turn 18 could have serious consequences
He says other sources have it closer to 40% (paraphrasing)
Regardless of all the nuance being injected in this discussion - the expectations and consequences of this type of behavior as stated by the head coach seem pretty clear.
Guess we’ll see if he is grading on a curve based on whether a kid can carry the rock or not.
Frost's own words:
“Aside from GPA, when we’re recruiting kids, the next thing we’re going to look at is what kind of kid the person is,” Frost said. “And part of that is looking through every ounce of social media we can possibly look at. So if some kid tweeted something four years ago that’s bad, we’re going to know about it.
“And I’ll tell you this right now — if there’s anything negative about women, if there’s anything racial or about sexuality, if there’s anything about guns or anything like that, we’re just not going to recruit you, period. Piece of advice for you — what you put on social media, that’s your résumé to the world. That’s what you’re trying to tell the world you’re all about. That’s how you’re advertising yourself. Be smart with that stuff.”
Frost said prospects shouldn’t tweet anything their mom wouldn’t be OK with reading.
“We will quickly drop somebody if there’s something bad on there,” Frost reiterated about social media.
This is an important distinction which some people are not making. It does make a HUGE difference that he was not involved at all in the actual assault. If he had been involved in the assault, this would be a totally different situation. He has not. You can talk about how bad it is that he sent the video and still recognize it is NOT the same as him actually committing sexual assault.
I said probably a minor as I remember him being young for his grade. The age of consent in California is 18. Anyone having sex with someone under that age has committed statutory rape which is sexual assault. This instance that has nothing to do with Mo outside of bitterly sending to video back to her.
It sounds like he dated this chick, she dumped him and then got gangbanged by his two friends. Then, tries to hit him up later and he's still bitter AF about how stuff went down, so he sends her that message.
Right. Instead of just copy+paste the article actually look up the sources showing 40%.
You make some very good points. However, considering the climate we live in now this could be a really bumpy ride for Mo and the athletic dept. Just have to let things play out.
The “rapist” got probation.
I'm not condoning anything..........but just so I understand the facts....
The only facts that I am aware of is he sent a video of his ex girlfriend and two guys having sex to his ex girlfriend....he wasn't in the video and he wasn't responsible for the video.
What we don't know is if there was a crime committed by him sending the video to his ex girlfriend. While definitely not a smart idea I will be interested to hear if a crime was actually committed and what they will actually charge him with... if anything. Again, I'm not sticking up for him, but honestly I don't know and I'm not sure anyone on this board knows the answer.
Again without knowing all of the details......I'm definitely not going to rush to judgment.
Possible, but that would still make him in the wrong sending that message to her.
Yeah. Am I your personal research assistant?
Do you think he's lying or are you just playing dumb?
I agree that he was still wrong.
Even if he wasn't in the video or shot the video, you cannot hold video or photos of someone who is a minor or a minor at the time of the video. That's why child pornography is getting brought up. Also the OP's article it states that California has a "revenge porn" law prohibiting Mo from doing what he did.
"Bitterly sending the video back to her" may very well end up being the worst thing done in this entire story. It certainly would be if it turns out the act on the video was consensual. Well, the guys in the video would be guilty of sharing child porn too. Kid made a big mistake.
You're the one making the claim by just quoting someone without looking up the sources.
So you think he is lying?
This is the bottom line regardless if he is even 18..
After reading the article, why is this now coming out? What exactly does the ho want??
Ruin his life..
Do you? He also wrote 2%-8%. So which is it?
I think the writer got confused with the 40% number as only about 40% of rapes are ever reported to the police. I've read some of the sources & none of them claim 40% which is why I'm asking what sources are actually claiming 40%? I know you haven't done any research so I suggest you get on it.
Yeah, and he should be treated as an 18 year old that made a mistake. Not some sexual predator.
For real? Disgusting post man.
