Measles Info Part II

Cancer?? HAH! Tell that to Greg Sharpe’s family. Heart disease?? The #1 killer of humans?? 100 years from now we will look back on chemo-therapy the same way we look back now on Doctors when they told people to bathe in sheep’s blood.

Easy to claim “progress” in cherry picked numbers when people are sicker than ever. That’s funny that you think they actually want to cure cancer LOL. I can expect you first in line for the new cancer vaccine.
Sicker than ever? What was the life expectancy for a newborn throughout history? It's amazing half the people you see walking around are even alive. With the lifestyles a lot of people live today, they would be dead with 1950's medical care.

Yep - easier to push pills and keep the revenue coming in. Sadly it’s not typically given as an option … “you could do all this work to change OR you could take this little pill and not change anything at all”. Sad.
It's like telling someone to quit smoking. You can preach all you want. They likely won't listen. Same with diet and lifestyle. So doctors do what they can with the tools available.

The challenge is they aren’t even educated to find the true root cause of the symptoms. It’s an endless system of treating the symptom but not the root cause.

Agree that too many people don’t want to change - however if they knew the root cause was to avoid a certain food they would likely do that over taking pills - but the normal patient doesn’t even get the option due to the lackluster testing medicine does.

Undoubtedly the most profound and true post in this thread.
The way that girls go from "fun" to "Not fun" is really something that needs to be studied.

When you are in that "hang out" stage with a girl, it is literally all fun. Day drinking, bar hopping, pool time with booze, hanging out with friends, partying all day for Husker games in Lincoln...literally no stupid stuff. Just fun.

Then BAM...one day it just all changes.

Now you have to make plans a week in advance. You do lame things like "game night" but it is not fun anymore. Pool time? What, are you kidding me, she is not going in the water. Day drinking and bar hopping? Come on, grow up! Oh, going golfing with the guys, well, sure that was okay 4 months ago, it was even filled with flirty texts all day long. Now...not so much. What is that, you are going to Lincoln again for the Husker game? I mean, didn't you just go last weekend???

Wtf are you talking about? You don't think a doctor knows what is causing people to be overweight, have high blood pressure, etc? Have you ever actually been to the doctor? You think the problem is people need testing to identify exactly which sugary drink and fast food meal make them unhealthy?

"Testing is back. Totally unexpected, but the 96 oz of mountain dew, 2 big macs, and a large fry a day is what was causing the problems."

"I had no idea, wish my doctor would have told me sooner."

you missed his point. The doctors just push pills rather than lifestyle changes. And he’s right.

Doctors in general*

You don’t believe most doctors push changes in lifestyle? 🤣
No, people in general are lazy. There shouldn’t even be many of these medications. They’re extremely debilitating. Doctors are no different. I have experience with bad doctors.

In school they learn medicine. They prescribe medicine. My sister is a doctor. She is a big believer in medicine.

I healed myself. Doctors wanted to keep me on a medicine for the rest of my life. No joke.

I'll back RBig on this one. I see doctor once a year. Never fails he wants to prescribe a BP med (mine hovers around 128, he wants below 120) and a statin for LDL (mine hovers 100-110). Not once EVER has he said if I lost 20 lbs BP would be fine. I know it would be, I'm just too lazy to lose the 20. Before knee replacement last year was obliged to see a cardiologist to OK my knee surgery. You guessed it....he cleared me for surgery but recommended Losartan for blood pressure and a statin for LDL and not one peep about changing diet and losing some weight. I looked up Losartan side effects and decided lowering my BP a few ticks was not worth possible: Dizziness, Fatigue, Upper respiratory tract infections, Cough, Stuffy nose, Back pain, Joint pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headache, Potassium levels, Kidney damage, Angioedema (swelling of the face, neck, and mouth), and Allergic reactions. But then - if I developed some of those problems I'm sure they have meds to counteract them (and each one of those meds has its own list of side effects), which in turn can be countered by additional meds.

Yeah I’ve been to the doctor multiple times and they push meds instead of lifestyle changes.

Functional providers do more specific tests to target actual issues that can get to the root cause. Food sensitivity testing which highlights foods which may be causing inflammation in your body like gluten, dairy or specific veggies. I’m not talking about the general crap people eat - I’m talking about even potentially healthy foods that may cause inflammation in specific people. Stool tests, Microbiome testing to determine the health of your gut.

Traditional docs take a battery of standard blood tests and even though you might be in “normal range” you could be far away from optimal and there is no action taken as a result.

Look into functional medicine - game changer when you can find a good one.

Not gonna lie, that sounds good!

Back in college at UNL McDonalds would do the buy one get one for a dollar. I would snag those two Big Macs a large fry and a big drink...back then it would cost like 5 dollars total.

Smash those down and start drinking a bunch of keystone bottles.

Your sister is obviously a LOT smarter than you. Good luck to you.

Americans are 4% world population but consume 8% of world medications. Up to 70% of all Americans are on at least one med. Taking into account poor people who can't afford regular checkups, people who have religious objections to meds, people who are too busy to go to the doctor, and a growing number of people who don't go to the doctor because they feel lied to, it seems damn near everybody who goes to the doctor is on at least one med.

Two big problems here are doctors wanting to reach "optimal", and the ever-decreasing (or increasing) numbers needed to be considered "normal". BP of 130 and 138 for men over 62 used to be considered in range. Several years ago they changed it to 120 for everybody, using "science" many people (including me) consider to be dubious. LDL used to be "normal" if below 130. Now normal is below 100. And here again not all "scientists" agree LDL needs to be under 100. I get real tired of going to the doctor one year and being "normal" and being "at-risk" the next year WITH THE SAME NUMBER. I haven't changed, the numbers have.

The last time I discussed meds with my GP I got pissed and told him, fine... let's put me in a plastic bubble with filtered air and water, no sunlight, an IV of essential nutrients, a diet of sticks and twigs, and no chance of death by automobile, airline, homicide and I'll live to be 120. He got pissed and told me all he could do is recommend what the "science" tells us. I let it go rather than telling him the science told me I wouldn't get ill if I took the shot, I needed 15 boosters and still might get ill, I needed to social distance for months, I needed to wear a mask, the kids needed to be out of school for a year, to virus came from wet-market bats, I'd only be inconvenienced for 2 weeks to "stop the spread", eating eggs would raise my cholesterol yada, yada, yada.

Threads like these always make me wonder, when out in the real world and talking to someone that I might not know all that well...is there a good chance that they are ****ing nuts?

Like, what are the chances that when I am at a husker tailgate and some guy is like "No, go ahead, grab a beer" and we start chatting...is there a good chance that he is normal but also totally insane?

You want a doctor to recommend something that you won't do anyway? I don't even know how to respond to that.

I don't think cardiologists make dietary recommendations. Never been to one. I imagine it would be like a brain surgeon telling someone to wear a motorcycle helmet after crashing.

Peru State had the brown-box-special…

$9.50 for 24 bottles of Keystone.

Behavior is hard to change.
Especially when “doctors” can’t tell them shit about what they should be doing for their health. Thanks for the statins, doc. We’ll just hope they don’t kill too many more people. Make sure you keep nuking kids’ hearts too so they don’t get Covid 🤡.

That level of propaganda and lying everyone saw destroyed your credibility. I’m sure you’ve noticed. Blame the higher-ups that you and your whole building are forced to tune into.
