We shall see. DH is the OC and I think he deserves to choose his own guys. Don't assistants sign two year deals? If so ours have had two years so it won't be a money thing. If he's ok with the guys he's working with them I'm ok with them. I just think he should have the right to a yay or a nay on who he wants.
I'd bet Rhule would be willing to do the same. Yesterday looked good but believe there is definitely room to upgrade this staff.

Remember when this off-season was supposed to be about Notre Dame, Florida, Auburn, and South Carolina firing their coaches? Or Matt Rhule, Lincoln Riley, Deion Sanders and James Franklin needing to show progress? I'm not saying you should have Iowa type patience and keep a guy past his peak by far, but you have to give guys three to four years unless they absolutely have abysmal records and can't bring in talent.

I can't help but think back to pre-season pressers and Rhule telling anyone who would listen that they were going to run an offense and call plays as if DR was a Jr. They were not going to water down or simplify the scheme and he would need to learn on the fly. That was a catastrophic misstep by Rhule and Satt. DR was significantly regressing as the season went on and those two coaches REFUSED to help DR by simplifying things. DH comes in, does just that, and now DR looks like he did early on. Jury is most definitely still out on Rhule, getting DH in here was step 1 to fixing things, but he can't afford many more "elite" coaching flub ups.

Serious question: what offensive staff would you like to retain other than Holgerson and Raiola? And specifically state what they did well before Holgerson’s arrival.
Ty Robinson and Nash Hutmacher are the only seniors I think are hard to replace with equivalent or better talent (maybe add Buschini). In some areas I think the younger guys may be less experienced or are a tad less physically developed but will have more athletic potential. Our true freshmen are collectively the best we've had in a long time. We've also seen a lot of improvement and development out of RS freshmen and sophomores. I actually feel really good going into next season with so little talent walking out the door.
Anytime I can see a war of words with names like Kakdawg and skullznbonz, it’s a good day.
Foley's gotta go, McGuire maybe, keep Satt at TE coach if he'll take the pay cut which I think he will as he's burned his bridge now at 2 serperate P4 schools and proved he's not coordinator material and he knows it and won't ever have another shot at an OC position again with his record and already has a job here. His TEs looked phoenominal Saturday. Donnie also stays as that was the best OL performance we've seen since Pelini as our OL did something Saturday Oregon's OL couldn't do against them was annihiate Wiscy's DL we had over 10 pancake blocks in that game and made that DL of theirs look absolutely stupid. Donnie ain't goin nowhere. This newfound attitude of the coaching staff and players is due to the Holgerson effect as now everything on that side is mirroring Dana's fire and attitude. Dana is the corrdinator we've needed for several years now not only for his offensive prowess, but the cerebral mentaity he's bought to the offense as we haven't seen this type of mentality in at least a decade. Dana's fire has also already spilled over to an already good Blackshirt unit! The Holgerson effect! I just hope he stays on after the year and more than likely he will because of Dylan. What he did for Dylan in a short period of time was changed up his release and delivery. His release is now a rocket release with A LOT of zip on the ball which is something he didn't have when he got here and his check downs are now at lighting speed. See what a few tweaks will do for ya? Rhule can now soley focus on being the CEO only which he shoulda been from day one without having to play a co position coach role.

They may have said they simplified things but I didn't actually see that at all. I think the play calling is maybe plays that are easier for our offense to execute but honestly I believe we're running some of the same offense.
Holgerson has thrown in some tweaks, buts it’s more of him having the chops to get the opposing D thinking too much whereas Satt just doesn’t seem to have a feel for play calling.
And a decent OC tweaks a few things virtually every week. Dana said he was going to use Satt’s playbook but it appears he’s changed some of the run block design. I believe we’ve seen very similar plays if not the same plays but the execution is way crisper. Just the timeliness of getting the call to the QB is a big improvement.
It's kind of hard to describe. DH may be using some of the exact same plays, just with a few sensible tweaks and better choreographed in practice and it just works on Saturdays. Attention to detail and seeing the bigger picture to call the right play in the right situation rather than flipping through the playsheet and picking something at random. There was a play where we had motion to the left, the 2 inside guys ran a mesh concept, and the 2 outside guys ran a wheel and both of the outside guys were wide open and were practically setup to be untouched to the end zone. Dylan went to the right to hit EJ, but he could have just as easily went to the left with the same results. I mean it's just stretching the field both horizontally and vertically to really stretch out the defense and then the motion part of it was perfectly executed as well. I mean it's the difference between having a competent coaching presence and not having one. And the results were very fun and exciting to watch. Which is the first time I could say that about Nebraska football in who knows how long. It's been ages since we've had an exciting offense.
