4. He needs a conference
5. While we stink RIGHT NOW, we won’t always( prayers for that)
6. He everything personality that Scott isn’t

open the checkbook Trev ❤️☺️

Now is the time to get him. With the Big 12 in disarray and the fate of ISU uncertain he has to be thinking about what is best long term for his career. ISU is about as high as any coach can take them. ISU is a tough place to win long term. If we wait too long he will be hired by another program.

He’s not coming here. He will hold out for a much better job.

Quite frankly it may be tough to attract any decent name to this dumpster fire after Frost gets done with it. But anybody is better than the town drunk.
Matt Campbell will only leave Iowa State if the right college job becomes available. The right jobs would include Michigan or Penn State. I don't think Ryan Day is going anywhere soon. Matt Campbell is an eastern Ohio guy and has no interest in Lincoln, Ne. or the NFL. If the Michigan job becomes available in the next year or two he would seriously consider it. He is one heck of "fundamental coach" and CEO.

doesn’t look like Frosty is going anywhere

I watched that clip. He never said he wouldn't fire him. He was saying he isn't coaching for his job in the IL game but we all know he was. Trev knows that but he isn't going to go and say "if Frost loses to IL he will be fired the next day." No AD ever says that. It's always a statement of support and then a firing.

He said earlier that he didn't want to come to Nebraska. And if he ever does want to leave Iowa State due to the Big 12 implosion, he'll have plenty of options. So I'd like him as a candidate but it's doubtful that ever works out.

But first and foremost we have to see if Trev actually has the stomach for firing Scott. And if he does, what kind of coaching search would he conduct. He's obviously not had AD experience at the P5 level before so that's an open question as well.

Ohio St or Notre Dame are the schools he would consider. A rumor is that he was seriously considering the Browns job and tentatively agreed on a Sat and backed out on Monday because the family was happy in Ames.

Matt Campbell isn't coming to Nebraska.

Why wouldn't someone like Gus Malzahn take the Nebraska job? He was competing at Auburn, took a G5 job, and would take any P5 job to get a coaching with the big dogs again. He was a fricken high school coach not that long ago and he will want to compete at a higher level again.

People will take the Nebraska job if the money is worth it, which it will, IMO. Trev will focus on hiring a person that coaches fundamental football.

If Campbell leaves ISU, he isnt looking to rebuild a team again.

re#3 he has never beaten Iowa

Of course he isn't coaching for his job this season in particular, you're coaching for your job every season.

And if I wanted to keep as many recruits committed in the mean time as we have, being the AD, I might say the same thing with all the talk going on.

Game on. Frost had seven years to get this thing going under Moos. Anybody know how long Trev would give him?

LOL! On #3 & 4….5 minutes of research will disprove #3 and #4 is moot as he is in an conference with A5 status and that will continue

Did you read the original post? He may go somewhere else but Nebraska in its darkest hour has WAAAAY more upside than the clones
It’s a fantasy to think a team with 4 straight losing seasons has more upside than the #7 ranked team in the country. If Texas and OU leave it might actually help him. He could dominate a weakened conference instead of trying to polish a turd at Nebraska. Look at the history of the treatment of coaches by the fan base since Solich. Nebraska couldn’t pay him enough.
