A real Munson
He'll have to switch positions. Zero chance he ever lines up under center for us.
WR. He is a great athlete with speedAre they looking at him as a QB??? Gonna be a crowded room if so.
Yeah- not sure what we’re trying to do with him. Some wildcat maybe? He'll have to switch positions. Zero chance he ever lines up under center for us.
Are they looking at him as a QB??? Gonna be a crowded room if so.
New staff that might value different things. (Hopefully). So who knows who the odd man out would be. Hornsby seems to be in the Smothers mold more than Haarberg, whether that means that is their type or they want a gadget QB with more position flexibility than Smothers... Who knows. So, help me out. KONG has been touting Haarberg to anyone that will listen, even when he is behind a walk on? Kong got a bump when the coaches used potential in front of his name. Then we get our starting QB coming back plus a pretty good transfer combined with two guys coming back who both played, their effectiveness is debatable.
So, IF Hornsby is a QB recruit, that doesnt signal well for Harrberg and his potential does it?
Sure I don't see the problem. Are they looking at him as a QB??? Gonna be a crowded room if so
Well Hornsby and Casey couldn't be more different in their playing abilities/styles. We seem to have a variety of skill sets in our QBs and on top of that, a bunch of them.New staff that might value different things. (Hopefully). So who knows who the odd man out would be. Wrong. He'll have to switch positions. Zero chance he ever lines up under center for us.
If anyone's getting passed over, it's Thompson. He led us to a 4-8 record. We need to move on from qb's like that.Yeah- not sure what we’re trying to do with him. Some wildcat maybe?
If multiple QBs transfer and Thompson has health issues, he could be a functional reserve, but I’d like us to have legit QBs in that room that can do things like throw a pass.
I Never pay attention to Bryan Munson. He doesn't know Squat.
He knows more than Gregg Peterson, but that’s about it.I Never pay attention to Bryan Munson. He doesn't know Squat.

There will be quite a few called to the office to be shown the exit…This is great news. We need another QB transfer and this guy has speed and talent.
We are going to shake out the QB room after the spring game anyways, and there are at minimum 2 guys that we all know should probably move on.
Agreed. Makes it hard to see what the vision is so it's all a crapshoot until they get a chance.to work with the players and make some decisions. I just hope there is some good development and no playing favorites.Well Hornsby and Casey couldn't be more different in their playing abilities/styles. add PurdyTorres, Haarberg, Smothers, Thompson, Sims, Hornsby. Gotta think at least 2 of Torres, Haarberg and Smothers are gone after spring ball.
Hopefully Torres stays. The others can move on.Torres, Haarberg, Smothers, Thompson, Sims, Hornsby. Gotta think at least 2 of Torres, Haarberg and Smothers are gone after spring ball.
I knew I forgot someone. Tbh Purdy is pretty forgettable.add Purdy
Not sure he has the running chops they want.Hopefully Torres stays. The others can move on.
At some point, NU has to look at the point of diminishing/non-existent returns. At his point in college football, you probably have to go 5-deep at the QB spot.add Purdy
yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Sims will be the starter and CT will be the backup. Maybe Malik gets in the 2-3rd spot.. Maybe Torres and Haarberg hang around? At some point, NU has to look at the point of diminishing/non-existent returns. At his point in college football, you probably have to go 5-deep at the QB spot.
Not to state the obvious here, but, typically THE starter will get the majority of snaps, hopefully, a capable backup when a game is decided or if the starter goes down with an injury or is just having one of those games.
Then maybe your 3rd kid is the "QB of the future", (if that even exists anymore.)
You're # 4 or #5 kid should have the types of skill sets where they can show a good picture to the #1 unit as to what opposing teams will come at them with.
So, he should need to be at least an average thrower and runner. Probably can't use just a one-dimensional kid here if you're trying to give the team a good look.
I agree Nikki. We know for sure what Logan offers. And Purdy has mostly shown his cards. The other kids have only shown in practice what they may or may not be capable of.yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Sims will be the starter and CT will be the backup. Maybe Malik gets in the 2-3rd spot.. Maybe Torres and Haarberg hang around?
it all depends on the staff eval this spring.. Logan and Purdy aren't really viable options in my opinion, but I assume the staff will keep the best guys and move the rest along.
Not thinking Casey was a big reason why we lost.If anyone's getting passed over, it's Thompson. He led us to a 4-8 record. We need to move on from qb's like that.
His first 3 steps are equal to if not faster than T-Magic. The bonus is that he has moves to go with that speed.Fast as lightning you say. That's nice, but could he be fast as Taylor Martinez? If so or even close, sign him up now.
Not thinking Casey was a big reason why we lost.
2022
Thompson: 10 games, 63% comp, 2407 yds, 8.8 yds per attempt, 17 TDs vs 10 INTs, 150 QBR
-21 yds rushing (yikes) but 5 TDs.
Sims: 7 games, 58% comp, 1115 yds, 5.7 yds per attempt, 5 TDs vs 3 INTs, 114 QBR
+ 288 yds rushing 1 TD
Thompson had no protection to produce a better average than Sims (no idea on GT OL).
I’m not saying Sims is not capable of doing good things for us, but some may be clamoring for what on paper looks like a downgrade in the passing game.
to be fair, thats an incomplete narrative. If anyone's getting passed over, it's Thompson. He led us to a 4-8 record. We need to move on from qb's like that.
