Isn't Joe Brady the reason why Scott Shanle threw a huge hissy fit over Rhule being hired as Joe and Scott were buddies from their Saints days together?

Paint chips ain't your friend slim shady. At the same time MR was feeling out Jake Peetz as a QB coach he opened his Rolodex and sent out feelers to Alex Van Pelt and Garrett Riley. I don't know Rhule's connection to Van Pelt but he knew about Riley when he was OC at TCU. Now go wipe your chin and slink away.
His lazy route in the endzone cost us a W his freshman year. The QB got blamed on this board for the INT but multiple former players said it was on Coleman.
the coaching staff rightfully got the most criticism for that play
didn't help that the QB in question called his own number the play before, ignoring the play call
I wish I could say which play this was but it happened multiple times to multiple QBs, so… too many options.
purdy INT on the goal line vs maryland.
no other NU QB ignored a playcall and ran his own (per Rhule in the postgame presser). just purdy.
the INT was 100% on the coaching staff. preposterous call in that situation, same result as Week 0 with the same concept. just flat out idiotic.
purdy (and coleman) aren't blameless, but they should've never been put in that spot even though purdy made an extremely me-first glory hog selfish decision the snap before.

Wrong play. I’m too lazy to go back and find the one I’m talking about but I remember the play you’re talking about. That wasn’t it. Don’t remember which QB it was. Might have been Sims.
How can you look at that replay and not say the WR ran a lazy route? It was 3rd and goal from the 7, less than 4 minutes to go in the game, you just drove a good distance to set up the winning TD. IF Coleman runs the strong slant and just runs the route, the ball hits him at the one and he walks in. the CB was dropping already toward the end zone and had already given up his inside leverage.
Even if you want to blame Purdy or the staff. How about getting a tackle anywhere on Maryland's last drive. Or Tommy Hill not looking like a chump on at least 3 plays, including a 3rd and 10 play where he was called for PI.

He should’ve never had to run it. And purdy was never throwing it to him (predetermined to the corner).
Abysmal situational coaching with a helping of selfishness from purdy calling his own number the play before.
Whole team collapsed after that, just like always.
Maybe, but let's assume that Purdy was throwing the corner route. The lazy route left the corner in a place where he could intercept the ball. A sharp route by Coleman clears the CB from the area and leaves Billy Kemp 1 on 1.

What you saw is what it looks like when imbeciles (satt) and laughing stocks (McGuire) are in charge of ensuring it’s executed.
I think you put too much on the WR coach and the OC. The play design is what it is, even if they, the coaches, are as incompetent as you believe, the concept was clear to even you and I. Coleman runs the slant, Kemp runs the corner. By November the imbeciles and the laughing stocks in charge of ensuring it is executed are not on the field to ensure that Coleman runs the slant as expected. Again, many plays that game were executed, perhaps even this one at some point during the game, the players have to execute the play.
