Let's say the guy is 50, and a (cute) 36 y/o girl wants to date him cause she's into older men

Here's a 49 y/o that might be interested in a date:

My neighbor across the street is 49 and his wife is 26. They seem to get along better than all those that bitch about them in the neighborhood. Ironic that it’s the women causing the ruckus.

It is always the women who complain in these situations. You will never hear any criticism from men about a couple's age difference

This is very true. In my discussions with my female college age students, what became very clear was their level of frustration with young men in their 20's. According to these girls, almost all of the younger guys are immature, video game addicted, porn addicted, losers. So many of these young women started dating guys who were over 40 just so they could be with someone who was mature and not a complete loser.
I don't think any of this is true. Men are the same as they've always been, but the status of women has risen greatly in a short period of time. It's inevitable that many men are going to get left behind because of this, and because young men don't have an established career yet, it's going to hit them hardest. A lot of these young men won't be able to compete in the workplace no matter what they do, so there's little else to do but turn to video games, move in with parents, etc.

Think what you want. But I stand by my observations

Older, married, rich women like guys way younger than them.
Best job for a guy in high school or college, is at a country club.
I am not kidding.
They all pretty much smell good and dress nice.
What more could you want.

To chime in, I'm about to be 44, I just Proposed to my newly 32 y/o fiance Sat. We met in Germany at Octoberfest 2 years ago. Fyi, I don't feel creepy anymore about it. I had originally told her I was 40 as I figured that it was a fling and 40,42... whatever. I remember when she told me she was a tiger according to the Chinese New Year, I didn't immediately respond with me too which I am

Well, your "assumptions" are not true. Men are not the same as they have always been. Read this. which says that a majority of makes to age 34 now live at home which is a major departure from the past. They can compete in the work place if they want but they have little desire to. The work place is not male friendly and we have successfully neutered the male of our species to the point where living at home, sponging off mom and dad is not only accepted, it is expected. Video games replace many social activities, mating is one of them and provide the social outlet that most males on here experienced in our younger days. We also developed the male leadership skills to manage families and work while this is severely lacking in many young males currently. I know this will get some comments.

Young men are the same as they've always been. They have the same desires. They have the same abilities. I don't think they're losers as one poster insinuated but factors outside of their control are making it harder for them to establish independence and the social status they once had.

i'm going to a wedding tomorrow where the groom is 58 and the bride is like 25. so it happens.

I met my wife when I was 44 and she was 32. The 12 years isn't a problem at all.

In general, I think when a guy gets into his 40's, he becomes a lot more valuable to society, and not just in terms of money, but more so in terms of experience. Women naturally find that very attractive.

Of course human nature remains the same. And of course young men of today have the same basic desires, generally speaking, that they always have had. But, with all due respect for your opinion on this issue, I think your posts are begging the question. Of course, social and economic factors have harmed young men in our culture and caused them to flee into a kind of perpetual state of resignation. So you are correct to call me out for calling them "losers". But, in my defense, I was just repeating the term that scores of my female students have used to describe the young men on campus. In point of fact, I view my young male students who manifest these tendencies as victims of our emasculating culture rather than as willful lunkheads. Therefore, my point is simple (and this is not meant to be a super serious thread so I will not say more): whatever the reasons, many, many, many young men have opted out of the process of trying to advance themselves in life. Many young men have given up and manifest almost zero ambition for anything beyond adolescent pleasures.
Peace

Edit: So to bring it back to the OP... this is why many young women of today are turning to dating older men.

Been single for about 6 years and in my mid 50's. There are way more older women banging younger guys than vice versa. women on dating sites constantly get bombarded with messages from guys in their 20's and 30's. FWIW... been with ladies from 35 to 60 and those older ladies give it their all and don't want to stop. don't get me wrong, the younger gals do to but the older gals are more appreciative . they make you breakfast :)

There has probably been a post on here that I've disagreed more with than this one, but I can't of it right now.

What you are describing is the effect of Feminism on the economy and the corporations.

This is best described by Coach Red Pill on youtube. I'm not going to link it directly, but search for a video called, feminism is a tool of the oligarchy.

I completely forgot about my neighbor when I made an earlier comment on this topic. He has a house in a small town on Lake Chapala near Guadalajara. He spends 7-8 months there every year. ( When he is home he goes to Europe, mostly Italy, for 2-3 weeks. I accuse him of not liking us here in the neighborhood). He is 79 and his girlfriend in Mexico is 39. I think other than the 5-10 minutes a week they have sex I think it is pretty much a father/daughter relationship. I guess it works. They have been together for 6-7 years.

I agree with you. My wife is 9 years younger than me and I got married to her when I was in my forties. In my case she would have probably not even dated me more than once or twice much less married me if we would have gone out when I was younger. I was too focused on me. Busy with work and having fun.

Is that OK? Asking for a friend....and i'm actually really curious about others thoughts on it.

Don't complain about the OT please, like the board needs my opinion on AM or clock management, and the title gave it away. Plus, I don't care.
Me smells gold digger. Betcha the dude is well off and the gal is driving a 2005 Chevy Cavalier.

FYI, I met my wife in college when I was working intermittent part-time at Burger Chef (no longer exists). I started up a conversation with her after class one day and the first thing she said to me was "You smell like french fries." Still married 46 years later.

I’d be willing to lend my phone # and address to those ladies if they truly are frustrated with those younger guys! :)

I'll be straight up. I'm in my 20s if some of you couldn't tell. Give me shit for it haha but I don't care. To be quite honest, this is a great thread to get us away from the same recycled posts, OP. I guess, in my mind, I pose the question to everyone here: why get married at all?

The real issue is "why have kids?" Many women want to get married and start having babies dropping out of crotch ASAP, usually at the urging of soon-to-be grandparents.

Marriage is fine for people in love. There is a sea change in lifestyle once the kids arrive.

Marrying a much younger woman is easy if you commit to marrying someone from another country. My wife is 27 years younger and we got married in less than eight weeks (Philippines). She’s here in the states for the last 2 plus years.

Both of us are happy. I have a YouTube channel called Love Beyond The Sea that exists to help foreigners know how to have a good relationship with a Filipina.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a large age gap marriage. Just choose responsibly.

What is crazy to me is Asian women and their culture of service to American men, especially in the Philippines, are soo much different than American women. It's a real thing as I've seen it firsthand with one of my father's friends. More ways good than bad, too.

Good question. Commitment, companionship, sex, personal growth, maybe in that order if we are talking about the rest of our lives.
