Leave it to basketball…

To my knowledge Allick was available vs. K-state unless you have a link that says different.

"

Without a break? Mast played 37 minutes.

...and you didn't even recognize the fact we were blowing the sCats out w/ 10 minutes left. Why do we need to be at full strength during a blowout? Hoiberg can be an idiot at times and this was one of them.
If Mast had a planned surgery coming up, what did it matter how many minutes he played? He was going to be rested the next time he steps on the court.

Have you not noticed how fast we can blow a 15 point lead?

I get it, I do. But come on....with 6 minutes left, up by 19 and you leave the linchpin to our season in the game 3 minutes more? For what?
If the lead trims to 9, put him back in, not hard to do. Especially if there was foreknowledge of some knee problems. Idiotic, all y'all need to stop apologizing for stupid coaching by Hoiberg.

Way way too early for this kind of stuff which doesn’t mean $&it in December..

NU needs to take care of business next week in final non-conference game. They have 18 B1G games, where they need to go 8-1 or 9-0 at home. Doing that would give them several decent wins and keep them on the bubble for NCAAs. If they stumble at home, they need to steal 2-3 road wins - preferably 1-2 against likely tournament teams. The month of January will tell us if NCAA is still possible, or whether we are NIT bound. I think a 5-3 January record, or 4-4 (with 1-2 upsets) is necessary.

I understand what you are saying, but as others have said a big lead can evaporate pretty quickly. Creighton found that out last night against Nova. I have watched a fair amount of CBK this year and starters seem to play the entire game - whether up 20 points or down 20 points. Right or wrong, that seems to be the way the game is played these days.

I just wish that, in the first half, they would have experimented with "defense" and "rebounding". I figured we'd eventually win...just didn't expect a snoozer for output in the first half. Mast's return after the surgery will be welcome. 👍
