Is it just me, or does OCDL never really say anything? Tuesday Banker talked about Gerry somewhat candidly and talked about how someone else was having trouble with the new tackling technique, somebody else stayed over spring break to work with Philipp, and all kinds of interesting stuff. All Langsdorf ever says is practice was great and everyone is doing great. He mentioned TA under threw a pass that was picked, but he is "coming along". The reporters get tired of the fluff and his PCs are 2-5 minutes shorter than DCMBs.

I'm not complaining since I dig the coaches getting out there for the PCs, but come on Danny - inquiring minds want to know.

He wasn't in the pros very long, but you wonder if that mentality wore off on him or whether he always found it attractive. I am speaking of the Belichickian-esque dissembling where you don't reveal anything that could be used against you.

There was a time not too long ago where people were expressing concern that Riley shared too much to the media. As fans we like it, is it the best for the team? Maybe not, but I seriously doubt it does much harm.

I find most all of these so general and so much "coach speak" I rarely pay much attention. I get amazed that people read or listen to these guys and get all pumped up over what? It seems they are expected to say something and by the time it goes from their brain to their mouth to the reporter who knows what the real meaning is.

Everyone is different, I think all the coaches are great in that there doesn't seem to be any defensiveness except perhaps Banker last year over his simple scheme and the oline coach on rotating linemen but I understand that given the press coverage.

I think he'll leave the candid talk to Riley when it comes to the offense.

He's become painfully aware of how Husker fans hang on every word and blow things out of proportion. That is one the reasons all you ever got from Frank was "they moved around well". IF he praises a guy all of the sudden he's a sure fire starter. IF he criticizes somebody, he will never play. He's just being very careful and I don't blame him.
