Lamar Jackson

He clearly doesn't want to be in Baltimore. Where does he go??

I know that nobody cares about the Ravens. But, I do. 12 year old me put a nickel in the helmet machine. Out kicked a Ravens helmet from the machine the day of the super bowl. I've been a fan since.
Tampa !

Lamar obviously never heard the saying “a person who represents himself has a fool for a client”. He made the business decision to sit out of the last part of the season and now he wonders why GMs are reluctant to make him a guaranteed offer? He’s a fool IMO who has over played his hand.

Whipper snapper!!

I learned the NFL from Gatorade caps back in the early 70's. When Houston went from a white helmet to a blue helmet, I had to go buy more Gatorade. Helmet designs are fascinating to little boys.

I also think he is a fool and any GM that "hires" him is a fool. I guarantee he will never play in a Super Bowl let alone an NFC or AFC Championship game.. hell, he might not win a single playoff game ever. I'd let him fall flat on his face.. Sorry, he did it to himself.

Yeah, Lamar is a conundrum. He is a great talent, for sure. But he has also been hurt enough to make a GM think twice about a mega-deal. His style of play, which makes him great, also make him a greater injury risk.

If you are a moribund franchise that is trying to hit the lottery, maybe you take a shot. Detroit? Minnesota? Indy?

I've honestly been in favor of dropping him from the start. His contributions have been great, but his fragility doesn't help him. His arm has improved, but he's still a fragile paper tiger

Ravens Ownership won't sign it, cause he can't finish a season/gets injured too much. He isn't that accurate. His running edge has been figured out.

Contrary
Baltimore has not went after true WR in over 10 yrs plus. It's not fair to devalue a QB that was a MVP in spite of the lack of quality receivers

Bottom line:
Lamar is a QB somewhere else

What elite/top end WR is going to a QB they is a better runner and doesn’t finish the season nearly as well as he starts? He is a hell of a RB playing QB.

He’s the most overrated player in the league and there isn’t a close second. He’s great for fantasy football - but Average in real football. Below Average passer at best. If he suffers any type of injury that takes away his speed then he is completely worthless. A team can’t take the risk of a long term guaranteed money hit without setting the franchise back for many years. he was offered a solid contract - he needs to accept that Is the best he can do.

Agree w/90%

Somebody is going to give him more $$$ than the Ravens were willing to do so, in the end he can claim victory....but I also think that team won't do much damage in the long run. But there are 1 or 2 teams who have nothing to lose and the ammo to do this.

The problem is that you have to mortgage your future for an oft injured guy who has proven he’s difficult to deal with. Just because the Browns lost their mind doesn’t mean somebody else should on another over priced QB.

Sorry, the Browns screwed you. What kind of dunce gives hundreds of millions in guaranteed money to a sexual predator?

The ravens have plenty of time to trade him for a high draft pick and get a new quarterback on a rookie deal. That’s what they secretly want IMO. They are trying to not look bad in the process.

Has he ever had a #1 WR? Nope. Not even close. He’s had a top tier TE and a bunch of WR 3s @ best. So when you say “average passer @ best” ask yourself whose he throwing it to? Cause it’s not like hes hold the WRs down. All those guys played elsewhere too and weren’t very good their either. Hollywood was probably his best guy he’s had and he was way over shadowed by Hopkins in AZ.

Andrews was his boy.

He's never had a true #1 full on receiver.

How many number one receivers wanna play with a guy that does not have the complete skill set to make the throws that you need to make at the NFL level. Is he good on the timing routes? I see a guy that can sit back in the pocket and hit guys in rhythm consistently or does he have to make the hero play so the player breaks down and he scrambles and then finds an open guy and that’s their base package? Hollywood his best receiver probably wanted out because he couldn’t get stats to get paid.

Don't see him passing Burrow in the divison. Perhaps he could use a change of scenery.

That's a very solid flip side

Watson’s guaranteed money is the holdup in him getting signed. NFL teams refuse to use that contract as a reference point in negotiation

He wants the same or more - the rest of the NFL says no way

What will be more interesting is when Burrow asks for more than Watson

He has no agent ,
Not officially but his mom handles most of the work. At least she used to. I honestly think that is the biggest holdup for him. Teams are used to working with a professional agent and negotiating with a mom and player is probably frustrating and a little scary.
