Jon Schutz Fired

You guys hiring?

If you have at least 12 years B2B sales experience, I'm hiring in mid November, to begin 1st quarter 2016. Must live in Cincinnati, Nashville, Jacksonville or Reno, the 4 areas we're expanding in (tons of travel though).

Yep...it's pretty hard to be fair and balanced for most people. If someone can't criticize the administration for how this was handled, that tells us all we need to know.

You're neither fair or balanced, but you're free to talk out of both ends. Just know it'll be called out when it happens.

Everyone is throwing the term "fired" around. I doubt a contract was signed yet. There are thousands of job offers that are extended every day with the understanding that certain checks must be done. We do it all the time - job is offered assuming you pass the drug screen and physical. Plenty of people have not been hired after the offer is given because something was found. This is normal so no embarrassment to the University in my book. The fact that this is Nebraska and Shuetz was a prominent sports guy in Omaha makes this a bigger deal than it should be.
This sums the deal up in a nutshell. Not "fired", but "hired contingent on...."

You gotta watch what you say on social media and even the phone, and where you go on the internet, especially company internet. .

This is a big no big deal.
I could care less.

Moral of the story is don't steal from old ladies and don't piss off Harvey.

Doubtful Harvey had anything to do with this. 1. He has thicker skin than this. 2. I doubt this is on his to do list.

The idea that Eichorst OR Harvey had anything more than a passing involvement in hiring a freaking peon PA announcer is ludicrous. Some underling brought him a list and recommendation then they signed off on it. THEN somebody else says oops, Judy Smith didn't do her due diligence and search the LAST NINE months of tweets by this guy. Gone. He's a freaking PA announcer that you can hardly ever hear or care to hear. Good heavens Callahan was right, "we need to get a life".

@scottym800 I got to thinking during lunch, the salary is not listed (I'm assuming) because it's a part-time gig. That's about the only thing I can come up with as I checked quite a few previous years and can't find anything on the University site.

I heard somewhere that the last PA announcer was only making $150/game. So at that little of an expense they might tie it into something else. I didn't look at that report very close, but I also know they run a lot of odd expenses through the alumni foundation.

That new photo is going to make it harder to take you seriously this season!
