I run four separate sales departments with excess of $240M in sales.
You guys hiring?

In both cases (the firing and the non-firing)
Yep...it's pretty hard to be fair and balanced for most people. If someone can't criticize the administration for how this was handled, that tells us all we need to know.We all get what's going on...

This sums the deal up in a nutshell. Not "fired", but "hired contingent on...."Everyone is throwing the term "fired" around. I doubt a contract was signed yet. There are thousands of job offers that are extended every day with the understanding that certain checks must be done. We do it all the time - job is offered assuming you pass the drug screen and physical. Plenty of people have not been hired after the offer is given because something was found. This is normal so no embarrassment to the University in my book. The fact that this is Nebraska and Shuetz was a prominent sports guy in Omaha makes this a bigger deal than it should be.
I heard somewhere that the last PA announcer was only making $150/game. So at that little of an expense they might tie it into something else. I didn't look at that report very close, but I also know they run a lot of odd expenses through the alumni foundation.@scottym800 I got to thinking during lunch, the salary is not listed (I'm assuming) because it's a part-time gig. That's about the only thing I can come up with as I checked quite a few previous years and can't find anything on the University site.
