Io_a has their OC

I like you, but they don't have a shot. The Huskers don't either. There is maybe 2-3 teams that have a shot and that is it. I know you still have to play the games, etc... Neither Iowa nor Nebraska is playoff material.
What do you mean by 2-3? In the Big Ten? I agree. If Cade stays healthy and/or Iowa adds a QB in the portal, the schedule isn’t daunting enough to think Iowa couldn’t go 11-1 in the regular season. It’s quite the “IF” though.

Right now neither is - but for 12 teams I would venture to say the Huskers could be there in 2 years
I guess we will see. I'm optimistic, but still have a long way to go. Until our OL fully changes, we are not a playoff team. I think defensively we are close and just need to continue to develop. Offensively we have a long way to go still. Need some difference makers to emerge at the skill positions and have a go to TE, RB, WR. I also hope DR pans out or Danny K builds himself up through hard work and competition. OL to me though is going to be the key. We've recruited well, now need to develop and play well.

Cade is not a great QB. He looked decent at Michigan because of that OL and way more weapons. Iowa OL also has looked in decline the last few years and Iowa doesn't have a difference maker RB like it usually does. I agree that Iowa always has a good D that keeps you in games, but you are going to have to go get some skill players and a good QB. NU and Iowa have a lot of the same problems right now. Until Iowa can show some progress on O, it is probably going to be hard to recruit offensive skill players to come play there outside of TE.

Who’s this QB that going to direct this team to 27-29 points without help from your defense scoring occasionally?

McNamara is a China doll and when do you expect him back, start of fall camp?
Than there is Deacon Hill, good luck with that one..
Ferentz has shown he doesn’t like to start young QB, hell it took him to the 4thQ in the bowl game putting in Lainez. He appears to be your only option..

Lots a luck thinking McNarama going to be healthy the entire 2024 season..
I know you’re obsessed with this notion and I’m not putting money on it, but Micheal Penix just finished a full season after two ACL surgeries. Let’s not act like it’s not common.

Iowa is in the market for a multi year QB, that’s proven. Lainez SHOULD get the majority of first team reps this spring, but as you’ve said Kirk is weird at the QB position.

Cade doesn’t have to be great. Be manageable. I do think it’s gonna be tough going early on in the year with a new offensive scheme. That part does scare me.

He definitely won the fan base today. Very impressive. Sounds like Kirk is gonna let him do his thing. “Aggressive, uptempo, RPO…” Will see if it translates and is cohesive under Kirk.
For the sake of all things holy it would be nice if Kkkirk would change a little. Uptempo - don’t see that panning out and RPO’s with Deacon will be amazing.

Honestly if Kirk would have at least let his kid try something different maybe he wouldn’t have been axed.
