Injury updates-Stadium upgrades

There was a drive in the third-quarter where they ran six straight times. It was tough sledding.
There was a sequence of a couple plays on defense where Nebraska’s front was Nash, Ty, Vincent Jackson and MJ Sherman. This group with 3 of our biggest defensive lineman had success against the run on the drive that they were in the game.

I’ll be curious to see what White does with our Hybrid guys: Princewill, Lendhardt, James Williams, Kai Wallen, etc going forward against Big Ten teams that are committed to running the ball consistently. I’m not sure any of these hybrid guys will do well against big, physical teams like Illinois.

In my limited experience with Vrzal he is a total douchebag. Its something watching a 40+ year old still have roid rages over nothing.
sooo does he want to call Vrzal a loser? Kinda my point. Say what you want about the guy he understands what’s going on. I enjoy his radio time.

Yeah he is an interesting dude. Nice to the people he likes, but overall kind of douchey. He's got that 1970's gym teacher vibe, and I just remember him going off about how NU didn't hire "Duzzi" (Pat Narduzzi) and that we just gotta be tough. His whole mantra is just you gotta be tough and beat the hell out of people. To hell with technique and everything else. Just beat people up. I'm not sure Pitt does that now, but he loved him at MSU.

He brings nothing to the table when he talks on 1620 and literally says the same thing every week. We get it Vrz. You played during the glory days. Good job.
I like his takes.

I think we are a good football team, we just lack identity.
Define identity.

It seems to me your idea is to just run the ball constantly, create that identity.

Can a team’s identity be just hard nosed, balanced football on offense and a tough and stingy defense?

Toughness is an identity, absolutely

Hard to establish when you’re going backwards at the snap (throwing it)

What would you say is our go-to when we need tough yards with the game on the line?

our backup IMO looks like a legit kicker. I think adrenaline got the better of him on the field goal. i'm not sure he's got a 55+ field goal in him but I think he's a good kicker.
So we have “legit” kickers as back ups? If he was truly legit, he would beat out the top guy.

You gave yourself away with the “going backwards” statement. It is obvious you are a run the ball kind of guy which is fine. You should be a huge Michigan fan. No one does that better than them.

You are the one pushing the identity agenda, but it has to be your identity.

I won’t fall into the trap of you not truly answering the question while asking what my position is.

I define identity as the last place you turn when your back is up against the wall.

We appear to turn first to the air and then into mush.

I’d kill to see Harbaugh’s offense here, yes.

Vrzal is kind of annoying in the coaching circles here in Omaha.

He also sort of is playing a role, which is smart, he knows what the fans want to hear. He also makes a great ****ing pizza!

Maybe the second best pizza in Omaha behind Lighthouse.

I enjoy his commentary. I could see where he could irritate other coaching staffs.

What did north stadium look like b4v they added the sky boxes and offices. Was it like south stadium. If so couldn't they just do somthing to add levels under south stadium and leave the existing seats there?

I was looking at it Friday night. There’s no reason they couldn’t build a mezzanine at the level of the mid level entrances leaving the seating intact. My belief is that when they studied it they figured they could generate more income longer term by adding luxury suites by starting over. Boosters of substance have told me there was strong push back from their ranks.

So you enjoy his one take that he repeats each week?
I’m the guy that after the game was over where I had 15 carries I showed my broken thumbs and swollen hands and forearms to the coach….,so yeah I enjoy him. Never missed practice or a game. Central City had a couple of NASTY d linemen in addition to Dave Leigle.

Somewhat.

Somewhat similar. I think maybe some of the issues are structural and the logistics of wanting to have 270 degree concourse and putting bathrooms and additional concessions for stadium in the existing structure.

Has anyone seen an updated version of "the plan"?

It’s part of his job. He has to do it. We don’t have to watch or listen to the press conferences. We need to chill. I can understand some frustration and depression but damn people need to get a grip. They bought in too much to the preseason hype and hysteria after we beat CU. This is not a playoff team. Never was. Strive like hell to get to 7-8 wins and keep building. Keep landing 4 star LBers, OTs and TEs that teams like OU, Bama and Georgia are recruiting hard. I know I want it NOW too but that isn’t how it works.
