In what year did you become a die-hard Nebraska fan?

1965; when our family moved to Nebraska. It was painful to see our undefeated Huskers go down in defeat to Alabama in the Orange bowl. Can you believe we were undefeated that year before going to the Bowl game?

In 1970, I was more of a baseball fan than a football fan. One Saturday after a baseball game, ABC had a show presenting the 1970 All America team. Two guys I remember were Ernie Jennings a WR from Air Force and Chip Kell a guard from Tennessee. The Huskers were represented by tackle Bob Newton and LB Jerry Murtaugh. I thought those were two great football names. I watched Nebraska beat LSU to win the National Championship. The next summer, I bought my first Street and Smith's college preview mag and have been hooked ever since. So really 1971.

The first game I watched was the 1968 47-0 blowout loss to Oklahoma. The first season I followed start to finish was 1969 (Jerry Tagge and Van Brownson alternating at QB). I've been an addict ever since!

Started in 1991. However I was young and didn't understand much. Saw my first live game at 9 years old against OSU in 1993. My uncles were working the sidelines in Stillwater. One of the game balls left the stadium with us lol. Ive been hooked ever since. 60-3 in my first 5 years. In 98 I remember feeling like the world had ended after 4 losses.

I'm 51 and grew up with it, but what probably solidified it was the very first game I ever went to..NU/OU 1978

I'm pretty sure that is NOT true.....but I would not stake my salvation on it....

I went and checked it to make sure, looked it up with one of my older Press guides.

In 1962 the 16-7 loss to Missouri was on CBS and the Gotham Bowl was televised by ABC.

First TV broadcast of college football game was Oregon at Nebraska on NBC on Sept 19 1953.

Early 90's I remember growing up and my dad and my uncle always watching the games, yelling at the TV. I remember my grandma always cheer for the wrong team. The huskers have always been a big part of my family since as long as I can remember. I am trying to instill that passion and husker pride in my son as well.
1970 at my aunt and uncles farm in Bancroft, for Thanksgiving...."reach Jerry.....rrreeaaaccchhh!"
