I'll predict the score if no one else will

Lol, when was the last time we scored 30? I think it was against an FCS opponent. We won't score even close to 30, but still might win...ugly game...17-9 maybe. if the game is closer than that I think we probably figure out how to lose, considering there is a lot riding on this game. Teams historically perform poorly after traveling across the country so I assume we win but it won't be because of team growth or figuring things out. It will be fun to watch a bowl as a 6 or 7 win team and get some bowl practices. Those are a big deal for kids who are going to stay with the program.
If the Huskers do not win the game against UCLA, I predict it will be another year with no bowl. I see no way the Huskers are going to get wins over USC, Wisconsin and Iowa if they lose tomorrow. On the flip side I think they win one or two more games if they beat UCLA. No pressure, boys.

Solid analysis as always. You are correct the Huskers will never score 30 again, it’s literally impossible. 🙄
We have 8 data points to go off of, we haven't scored 30 against a power 5 team. Also, two of our 28 point efforts had pick 6s in them, so we actually only scored 21 on offense, with Colorado dropping a pick 6 that ended up deflecting and being a td for us. Our offense is worse than it appears. Our special teams might be turning the corner but November is a tough scoring environment so I don't expect big scoring games...if we score 24 a game we should go 3-1 the rest of the way. True Freshman qbs historically wear down by the end of the season as well if they are starting every game...Dylan isn't going to get better either, hopefully we can find balance and a few big plays and get some turnovers on defense. Good november football.

Yep - you are correct 30 points might as well be 100 points. It’s physically impossible unless the defense and special teams get two touchdowns. You are spot on - thank you for wisdom.

All these people predicting we will win a one score game are way too optimistic. I’m predicting Huskers 24 UCLA 7 to avoid that.

Dipshit alert from clarkeye country.

I didn’t expect them to put up 35 on Rutgers (who held NU to 14), but weird things happen in sports.
Garbers had his best game throwing for almost 400 yards in that game.He has thrown for almost 300 yards in 3 others, one of those was against LSU.Their running game is not good, they had 1 runner who broke 50 yards total,Harden.Garbers has been their leading rusher in 2 games with a little over 40 yards in both games. My biggest concern is we are starting some inexperienced players in the secondary and Garbers can run some.We HAVE to apply pressure from the up front guys.I do see UCLA trying to run some RPO stuff.Do Not over pursue, stay in your lanes and no missed tackles. They can be ran on, depending if Statt even tries will be interesting . Garbers has been good for an INT or 2 ,so hopefully we can get a couple.Their defense isn't that bad , outside of the Indiana game. The weather will definitely play a factor if the predictions are correct, off & on rain showers for the game,I believe 60% to 70% chance. If we can run the ball with some efficiency, give Dylan some time to throw and limit penalties & NO TURNOVERS,then there is no excuse to come out victorious.Still going with Huskers 20-10.Special team play? Well they better be just that SPECIAL.GO BIG RED and get that bowl eligible victory of their back.

Of the 5 teams we've beaten, and including CU's gaudy record of 6-2, the opponents are a collective 14-25, without the CU win it drops to 8-23.....

The three teams NU has lost to are collectively 20-3. So, the good/really good teams beat us although I think CU is close to being in that category.

Mostly, NU just beats bad, bad teams, and UCLA happens to be one of them.
However, I take nothing for granted with this team.
Let me respond to my own post. I said mostly, NU beats bad, bad teams, and UCLA happens to be one of them. However, I take nothing for granted with this team.

This has the look of deja vu all over again. We were 5-1 and now 5-4 and likely on the way to another 5-7 season.

Are we gonna come off another bye week and shit the bed again like at Indiana?
Is NU capable of finishing this season with a 6 game losing streak?
Maybe yes and yes.

I bet these kids can't wait for the season to get over.

Imagine not realizing Rutgers was without half its starting defense when you comparing scores in games.
Whomp whomp. Imagine thinking Nebraska is anything but awful right now. Apparently only slightly better than 5.5 1st string Rutgers defensive starters .

Huskers 27
UCLA 20

Though I'm perfectly fine with winning a 1 pt game in the ugliest possible way possible. Just get the monkey off the back with win #6 and get those few weeks of extra practices.
Ha... do I get something for picking the correct numbers in the score? Too bad it was reversed. Like I said on the game thread if the 27-20 UCLA held up I'd give up on picking Huskers scores. Well maybe I won't forever. Forever is a long time. But a break is definitely in order...

Perhaps I should employ the George Constanza method and start doing everything the opposite of my instinct and things will work out for the Huskers? It's worth a try right?
