Huskers travel to Paternoville as now 1.5 favorite

Why do football coaches get more blame for crap play than basketball coaches?
They don’t

Football coaches just dont get the benefit of a 30+ game regular season

And hoiberg is on pace to bring us to back to back tourneys - a bigger accomplishment than merely becoming bowl eligible

Losing this game is neither here nor there if we take care of our remaining business. Every loss matters in a huge way in football (assuming the goal is a title).

Yep, all that matters is making the dance.

This is why UNO made the right move dumping FB and wrestling. If UNO makes the dance this year, it will be a big deal. If they win a game, it will be a HUGE deal, bigger than winning 10 FB titles in whatever division they were in.

The sad thing is we go into an arena with little to no fan fan base there and get blown out out by a team with three conference wins. To win on the road you need to play defense. To give up 50 points in the first half is unacceptable for a team that thinks they should be in the NCAA tournament.

I think you look at things from a Nebraska football fan perspective. Kentucky basketball fan thinks the exact opposite.
Fair enough because I am a Nebraska football fan. My question still stands though. By all accounts this team played like crap and lost to a team they were supposed to beat and no one is blaming the coach.

Had a feeling we might not win this one, but I wasn’t planning on them not even showing up.
2nd game in row coming out as plate as a pancake..

Have 5 days to shake this off hoping Berke will be back Monday night.

I can explain to you that in basketball home court advantage is a bigger advantage than home field advantage in football..

It’s always been this way because of closeness to the court of the fans and referees you could say get more influenced with the fans on top of them.

One game doesn’t mean as much in hoops as it does in football

Super simple

If we have a catastrophic collapse everyone will be calling for Fred’s head

Had also heard PSU had not lost at home by more than 4 points. Were in every game. Early on this year were talked about like they were a contender to win the league. Not making excuses, but they were not as bad as they seemed. Also, was weird playing to 183 people in the crowd. Could hear people breathing. Morgan immediately being in foul trouble completely threw us off too. Similar to Gary last time out at NW. Ref swallows his whistle there early on, or maybe calls a couple on the dudes raping our ball handlers and they back off a little the game could look different. 8 to 2 fouls until the refs threw a couple late ticky tack bullshit ones at them with 10 seconds left in the half (or something like that, dont quote me). Again, we blew this game, not the refs, but not all is lost. yet.

Teams shouldn’t lose to teams that they should beat and a sport shouldn’t have games that don’t matter.

we were 1.5 point underdogs last night.

college football is basically the only sport in existence that doesn't have games that don't matter, and even that is becoming less so with playoff expansion.

Game falls on both the players and the head coach.

Players need to motivate themselves, it was like since the arena was empty they had no motivation which Hoiberg job is to light a spark in their ass.
This team is very fragile. They were never competitive against Purdue, Wisconsin, MSU. Looked lost for the first half against two of the worst teams in the Big. Brice and Juwan have to carry this team, and I worry they are wearing down. I feel bad for them: they stayed loyal and Fred failed to surround them with high quality pieces for their last year.
