I spoke with Los Angeles Valley defensive end Raveon Hoston this morning. He did confirm to me Nebraska has has been in contact, but no visit has been set up at this point. Hoston said his academic counselor is supposed to be talking with NU defensive coordinator Mark Banker later today. The 6-foot-4, 250 pound Hoston has turned some stuff around, which could potentially make him eligible, which is why he is still available at this point.
Rivals Junior College Expert Brad Hoiseth, who's also based on the West Coast is very familiar with Hoston.
"Seems like I have been watching him for about a decade," Hoiseth said in an email to HuskerOnline. "Not sure what his eligibility is. Was at Arizona Western at one point before coming to LA. Was at Pierce for a year before heading to Valley. Played at Valley in 2014 and 2015. Originally from Washington. Big, strong and athletic. Has a ton of talent."
Obviously there are still a lot of questions about the potential of his development, but this is what we can share with you right now.
