Here's the updated official NCAA RPI, which is what the selection committee goes by. Nebraska is now No. 36. If Nebraska were able to push into the 20's, there's an outside chance they could host a regional. Nebraska has put in a bid, and the indication they've gotten is 12 of the 16 host spots will be in the SEC and ACC, and the other four will be in the Midwest and West. You can bank on Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and TCU probably being two of those spots. Washington, Arizona State and Cal State Fullerton have a shot out West to host as a 2 seed or push into a 1 seed.
Talking with Kendall Rogers this morning, he said one scenario could be Florida Atlantic coming to Lincoln as a 1 seed if the Huskers had a strong showing in Omaha this week. Lots of baseball still to play, but something to chew on. A 2 seed host is still an outside possibility because the NCAA needs to have some spots in other parts of the country for travel.
