Thinking back to a comment about why Dowdell may have been shouldering more of the load vs EJ someone had mentioned the possibility of NIL commitments.
Looking at Iowa they didn’t have a QB competition in the spring but having seen their 2nd and 4th string perform better than McNamara does the NIL arrangement prevent players from overtaking based on talent?
Were DH’s comments about position groups keying into their “favorites” more a factor of NIL than being actual “favorites”?
I believe people should compete on merit and not NIL commitments.
