Hoiskers visit the Gophers as 2 pt favorites

I admit it: Hoiberg got me again.

Honestly, Minnesota has tougher players that look way more engaged in this game. Tominaga has turned into a whiner. At this point I'd be playing Sam way more than him if he's going to be a baby.

How are we so bad at covering the three point line and can’t rebound? Like how is it possible to be bad at both?

Tominaga is way overhyped. If he was white, nobody would no his name

Payne is KILLING every one of our guys. He's surrounded by 3 guys and comes down with the rebound every damn time. Pathetic.

I can’t think of a worse loss in the Hoiberg era all things considered. It seemed like we had the talent and had turned a corner this year, but nope same old shit for Nebraska Basketball

I was skeptical that Mast would translate to the B1G and he’s been dead silent while getting out worked on the boards and in scoring. This is a bad loss.

Anyone still think playing a steaming pile of dog shit non-conference schedule is a great way to get ready for Big Ten play? Did it give NU's guys confidence and position them for The Big Dance?

But hey, who knew a steady stream of teams with +200 NET rankings last year would be so bad?

There’s the Fred we know and love. Mast is getting dominated. Boxing out Is non-existent. Just an atrocious effort
I’m done with Fred. He needs to get fired. Lost a 15 pt lead to a bad team with a bad coach, without their best player, in a gym with maybe 4K quiet fans. 5 years later we still don’t have enough size. Fred has no idea how to stop runs, no idea how to work refs. Sits quietly while no call after no call happens. And why isn’t Rice playing more???6’8” and can shoot on a team without Al enough size. I’m sure his name is already in the portal.

We looked pretty dang good for a long while today. I don’t understand the 2nd half collapse but they’ve shown they can be the real deal. They just need to put the full game together. This is do or die time for Hoiberg. Get over the hump and get in the tourney or do what we did in the 2nd half tonight and get fired. I still have hope he can do it but tonight was discouraging

In a vacuum, I'd say this is no big deal because basketball teams hit slumps. It's the nature of the game. But we're not in a vacuum...this is a team coached by Fred Hoiberg. It's clear he just doesn't have any answers when things start to go the wrong direction.

Eh, tonight was a must win for a bubble team. That Minnesota team is f*cking garbage. While it’s not impossible to overcome this horrendous loss, it is highly unlikely

This. What an absolute embarrassing loss. One of the worst I can remember in the Hoiberg era.

Hoiberg is not even in the conversation with Prime. How does Fred even still have a job? Another Husker coach who seems to finds a way to lose games. Maddening.
The comparison is because Prime won a few games at the beginning and built up the hype to only get hit head on by a dump truck once real opponents arrived.

So I'll ask again - is it a good idea to pad the schedule with automatic wins over terrible teams?

I agree. What’s Fred been here, six years now?? Tim Miles had better teams and better talent, and I thought he was still bad. Fred hasn’t improved this program at all. Hope I’m wrong as the season is early, but I see the same results happening as usual.

2nd half…

I especially liked FH having Kasai, Sam, and JL in the game at the same time in the second half. It was shocking to see us get manhandled on defense and the boards for 2-3 mins before Fred realized the idiotic substitutions he had just made. Grade school level incompetence.

LOL they finally call a foul on the guy mugging Tominaga. Perfect timing aka too late to matter.
Blame the refs all night but this team does not challenge or know how to finish. How many wide open 3s did we give up. Very hard to watch but yea, blame the refs for typical Hoiberg team play. How does one explain the first half when Nebraska was aggressive?
