Yeah, crossing my fingers they can improve on that 2-22 from three situation. Yikes. Sounds like Fred considering using Gary, Mast & Allick together more.
Game plan was pure dog shit going into that Creighton game. Hoiberg (just like that psycho Fran MacCaffery) thought he had a good enough team to beat Creighton at their own game, stupid. Gotta muck it up and slow down the pace to beat them, much like Colorado State did. (And us last year, and San Diego St too)
Moral of the story… if you try to beat Creighton at their own game you’ll probably lose by 10-12 pts if your a decent team. If you try to beat them at their own game and Creighton gets hot from 3 pt land, you’ll get beat by 30.
No kidding. Early on we were cranking up 3's early in the clock and I was like, "we're effed." Also, I guess you have to give McDermott credit for game-planning to let us take the shots they wanted us to take.
Kinda need this one after Sunday. If not, you could be looking at a 4 game losing streak and unwinding everything accomplished to this point.
Allick is a solid player but he belongs nowhere near the 3-point line. Not really Gary's game, either. Get those guys the ball in or near the paint, and leave the 3s to others.
It was a very Sadler style defense. Doesn't work against teams that comfortable from 3.
I didn't get to watch the Creighton game. My wife watched and said it was awful. I don't know why we play the D we do, it is terrible. We repeatedly go under screens thinking we can recover but end up leaving guys wide open for 3's. Not sure how they played Creighton but they have been using the double team but teams are too good for that and just make the extra passes to get a wide open shot every time. We are just horrible at that.
Hoiberg was yelling at guys for going under screens early in the game. It was super-frustrating to watch and after the Iowa football game the week before I said "screw it" and went out to the garage to work on a project.
The guy must chuckle to himself all the way down from Omaha on the bus.
How ever is he going to conquer the mind of one of the worst, lethargic coaches in all of college basketball?
Remember same thing happened to creighton in Omaha last year.

He hates Nebraska basketball. Likes to post clever stuff like referring to Hoiberg as "your coach." He's not a Nebraska fan unless it's convenient for him.
Seems like anytime we follow another game on TV, that previous game goes to OT 70% of the time.

They don’t have much offense outside of Garcia who got hurt. Speak of the devil there he is.
We're so much deeper this year than I can remember. We did everything wrong against Creighton, but I think we're pretty underrated.
Chrayon was on fire ... the way they were shooting, it was going to be difficult to win. It goes that way sometime. They aren't that much better than us. We have a really solid team.
Considering they’ve completely eliminated Tominaga from the game - I’m impressed. He needs to stop getting frustrated and keep running his defender all over.
1 foul on Minny all half, I think. And that actually was a questionable call.
Gotta get used to B1G officiating again. They let them absolutely bang, and then mix in few terrible calls… and there you go.
Rebounding early on was bad, got a little better recently. We’ve also missed some open cutters even though we’ve hit plenty too.
