Haarberg

Let's be honest. Haarberg is not the guy that's going to resurrect this program.

We need to open up the checkbook and make a huge offer to the best throwing QB that hits the portal this offseason. Then we need to open the checkbook and hire a proven offensive line coach. If we can afford $450 million in stadium renovations, we can afford to buy some better players and coaches.
Agreed. He’s average. We need difference makers. Currently we don’t have one on the roster at QB or WR. And our OL? It’s been bad for a while.

Obviously Michigan is more talented at every position, but I thought Haarberg has been okay considering what he has to work with. He's made a handful of good throws and obviously he's always a threat to break a big run.

I think we could win some games with him going forward.

What do you all think?
Your drunk

Why are you so butt hurt from HH? Sims has 1 passing TD and 4 picks vs HH who has 4 Passing and 1 pick. Sims passing TD was a fluke and HH’s pick was a fluke. It’s that simple man. It’s that simple. People don’t want to see Sims at QB anymore. He sucked during his time. He sucked. Get over it
ThIs is where I have an issue. I don’t know who is better, but the coaches thought Sims was until he was injured. I will write this though…

I think it is easy to write things like Haarberg is 2-1 etc.. but if I am beating a team in 3 on 3 against where the opponent is 3 dudes from high school and the second game is then 2 dudes from JUCO and a high school dude. Even if I win does that show anything??

What if the other guy played agains 3 legit D1 talents, but turned the ball over too many times, missed some open shots,etc..

You simply can’t compare the 5 games played.

HH is plenty fine as our starter next year... If we magically overnight had Meatchickens oline.

Let's face it - even Caleb Williams would be looking pedestrian behind this line. Unfortunately, line takes a couple/few years to build. And it all starts and ends with the line.

The portal seems like it has more limited options for linemen than skill positions. So it'll be a couple years at minimum before we see if Rhule can get a decent line.

Here's to the Rhule year 3 🍻

Rhule has found speed before. We need speed, and there is no other recipe other than speed right now.

I'm tired of being slow for the last 20+ years. Get some Texas speed.

Yep.

Yes it’s very easy to write Haarberg is 2-1. Because that’s the fact and it’s fun to write. I mean it doesn’t have to be complicated man.

Folks act like Minnesota and Colorado are some dominant defense. They aren’t. Not even close. Minnesota was losing to the Ragin Cajuns at home today at half and gave up 30+ to NW last week. And everyone scores against Colorado defense. They’ve given up 40+ to everyone except us.

“Even if I win what does that show?” It shows you won. That’s what’s important. I mean come on man. Really, I don’t want to go where your forcing me to go here. But that’s a real dumb question.

And to go “well the coaches thought Sims was better in practice”… Do I really need to quote A.I. here? Lots of dudes go yellow when the lights go on.

These questions that your asking, really make me believe that you’ve never played sports in your life. Cause if you had you’d probably have been around guys that were just winners and been around guys that looked fantastic in practice but when the big lights came on, they just went yellow. Confidence is everything my friend. And QBs that don’t turn the ball over generally win more than ones that turn the ball over a lot.

He is the home grown kid...That is viagra for us. Lord knows most of us fans need that.
I give absolutely no shits about that. I’m looking at this roster and thinking beyond today…and even this season. We have plenty of data on Sims and the conclusion is that he is a walking turnover. Not sure why we would expect that to change. At least HH doesn’t have those incredibly horrible metrics and habits. Today led me to believe that HH throws a better ball than Sims…when it’s not knocked down at the line of scrimmage of course.

How much SkinBracer do you have?

Hopefully the rest of the teams all have short guys playing the DL!

He shouldn’t be starter - he can’t pass ( very poor accuracy and delivery gets pass knocked down ) he can’t run option and his wins were against very weak teams. Sims should be starter.

Was gonna post the same thing. I’m more in on HH after today than after his first 2 games. If we stick with him, I think he can be great. Other than the tipped passes, his reads seem to be good, throws a decent ball, he’s tough (and has to be considering this offensive line), and we will need his feet to succeed. I’m in. I’m on board. Let’s get back to work.
Armstrong said HH blew that 4th and 1 play. Said he was supposed to follow the RB and would have easily gotten the first down.

Yeah, that play was probably my biggest gripe with HH...what the hell was that half-assed jump he did? That's about the worst thing you can do on a play like that.

Haarberg can’t pass? Sims is a career 57% passer with a 31-27 TD to INT ratio. That’s absolutely abysmal for a 4 year starter in college football. We aren’t competing for a title this year. We should ride and develop a guy as opposed to rolling with a finalized product that is a proven, flawed commodity.

No doubt he looked rushed and uncomfortable on that play. Inexperience will do that to you. No guarantee that Sims would’ve even caught the snap. Only kinda joking…..

It comes at you fast. Might have given us some mo but wasn’t going to change the outcome. I said last weekend that Michigan’s QB was going to have a huge game against our D and that was before Singleton went out.

HH is 2-1
Sims is 0-2

We can make a bowl game this year with HH.

With Sims, that becomes a real question mark.. and he destabilizes the offense and the guys around him.

Things have stabilized under HH, even in this game. I think that's important for the team going forward.
HH has beaten North Indiana State and Louisiana Baptist Tech. Give me a break!

Did we have an Armstrong on the sideline or in the huddle?

Save this middle school girl rumor shit

Clearly looked like the play was designed and practiced with him going over the top. Panthers ran it with Cam a million times. Otherwise we’d have been under center.

Idiotic play call. Just run the sneak.

TA was on the big red postgame show. Said everybody runs that play. Says he ran it. HH tried to bounce it and should have followed his lead blocker.

I think that one just needs to get under center. Not sure we get it but hate sneaks from the shotgun or pistol.
I’m not a fan of the play either but TA says everybody runs that play. His opinion was that IF Heinrich followed his back lead he would have easily picked up the first. TA knows what the play call and design was.

He run it for the Omaha beef?

It’s the cam newton panthers goal line over the top play

He’s wrong. So was Satt to call it.

No, he doesn’t. He played 10 years ago & has no ties to this staff or roster.

Rhule has run that over the top play a shitload.

HH has run that same play successfully in the last 2 games. He made a mistake today and admitted in a postgame interview. It’s not a big deal. He’ll learn from it. It didn’t change the outcome of the game.

What about Billy Kemp IV? Didn't he give the slit throat after a catch?
