Land of 10 has a nice fluff piece today about Coach Austin. It sounds like he has a track record suggesting he can get the job done with an oline where so many coaches since 2001 have failed.
However, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the reference to the Pipeline and how Austin wasn’t used to seeing what our oline has become. I think most people would agree that the Pipeline went MIA before Austin played at NU — probably the most sound reason for canning Frank — and it still hasn’t been found. So Austin may be the greatest oline coach ever but it won’t be based on his memories of the Pipeline. However, if he can replicate whatever UCF’s oline nickname was, that will be just fine.
