Land of 10 has a nice fluff piece today about Coach Austin. It sounds like he has a track record suggesting he can get the job done with an oline where so many coaches since 2001 have failed.

However, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the reference to the Pipeline and how Austin wasn’t used to seeing what our oline has become. I think most people would agree that the Pipeline went MIA before Austin played at NU — probably the most sound reason for canning Frank — and it still hasn’t been found. So Austin may be the greatest oline coach ever but it won’t be based on his memories of the Pipeline. However, if he can replicate whatever UCF’s oline nickname was, that will be just fine.Laughing

Coach looks like he could still play.

He might not of played in the glory years of the pipeline but he was in high school when it was. Call it the pipeline, call it anything you want, I dont care just call it effective, thats all I care about. Winning starts in the trenches and IMO Austin has the most difficult job out of all the staff. I know all Husker fans are behind him. GBR
