Game day!! GBR!!

Huskers definitely need Corcoran to start playing at the level and ability that the professional people currently rank him at. Last year, they projected him as a 2nd or 3rd draft choice that can play any of the 5 OL positions.

I've been really disappointed in his on-field performance his entire career thus far. He's the most athletic guy in the entire room, yet, he makes a ton of mistakes when he plays. I hope he has turned the corner.

If Corcoran rose to that level and with Nouilli at LG and Scott at C, NU could have one helluva good left side of the OL.

I think Scott will be a huge boost. Imagine having a center that can actually snap and block? Plus is super experienced.

During the Yant bandwagon, during the Grant bandwagon and during the Allen bandwagon I was shouting about R. Johnson. When the dude was not hurt he was smashing it doing everything asked of him and doing it well. Jeez I hope he straight blows up this season. (Huge fan of Gabe so no shade at him or anyone else.)

This insane idea that Minny plays "grown man football", please, no more.
PJ ran Mo into the ground, that was sort of the perfect college back for them. That is not happening again.

Rhule and the whole staff has been preaching physical violent contact for a long time now. They've been trying to prepare these guys to be physical through different measures.

Those players are playing physical, and it's nothing more than preparing them for a physical game.

I'm chasing my tail in my explanation, but its no different that TO, physical was the name of his game. Hit 'em every snap,, snap after snap, and eventually wear them down by being relentless.

I think after NU has been "soft", a so-called "finesse/trick 'em team" for several years, its just a matter of changing their perception of themselves. Frost's teams were soft and they played soft, so when the shit got deep, they folded.

First physically and then mentally..

I personally don't have a problem with that approach. Deep down, I think think Rhule feels this team wins the game unless they beat themselves.

Let's not forget Rhule earned his degree with a Master's in Educational Psychology.

Osborne had a long-time Master's in Educational Psychology before he received his Doctorate in that same discipline.

A large reason Rhule is always talking about how NU has to earn the respect to be confident heading into the season.
His teaching is nothing more than a systematic approach to developing confidence through earned respect, not fear.

Tom always talked about not having his team(s) get too high, because that emotion is so closely tied to fear.

Lamesville.

Jocking up opponents is lamesville. Especially when it isn't true.

Agree with all except I seem to recall TO not wanting his players to "hate" opponents because that emotion is closely tied to fear? I could be wrong.

You could be right Husker, but I don't ever recall the word "hate" coming out of TO's mouth.

I think I'm gonna stick with my "too high" v. "fear" comparison. If proven wrong, I will own it.

Logic says when a team is "too high" and then things become very difficult, or start to unravel, the normal reaction will
become fear of losing after expectations of winning.
