Anyone want to double down or renounce the praise for her as a celebrity for Husker nation from 2 weeks ago?

Link.

She's a Husker. That's all that matters to me on this board. Is there some sort of moral test we have to take to root for the Huskers? Pretty sure that sell out streak would be over Saturday if that's the case.

No just curious as to people's feelings. No problem here from me. But attitudes around here change quickly, kinda wanted to see where this put her in some folks eyes.

Don't care one way or the other. I grew up in a military household and I have a brother who served in both the Navy and the Army at different points in his life. That said, our descent into competitive outrage and virtue signaling (on all parts of the political spectrum) bores me. I don't care, I don't believe that the people who howl about Kaepernick or transgender bathrooms or the (repeatedly debunked) wage gap really give much of a crap about the stuff they yammer about either. I think they want us to think that they care, so we'll know how virtuous they are and pat them on the head. Barf.

Yah there's certainly a fair bit of peacocking going on.

I used to enjoy political threads. At this point they make me weep for humanity. For too many people the political has become the personal and bumper sticker slogans masquerade as arguments. If everyone you disagree with is Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot/Mao, no one is Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot/Mao. If every issue poses an existential threat to our way of life, nothing poses an existential threat to our way of life. There are a number of serious issues facing the nation/world right now and if message board discussions of those issues are any indication, we are doomed. Fortunately the world is far far bigger than politics. Jackasses worshipping jackals might make things worse, but it doesn't encompass the whole scope of our lives.

12 post, still no pics. Disappointing.

I think the government is too centralized now and that it will lead to tyranny, as all ready reflected in the out of control spending and taxation. doesn't mean I disrespect all those who came before and tried to do it right.

If CK decides to beat his girlfriend repeatedly, throw her on a bed of guns and threaten her life, even though she is 100 pounds lighter. Then deny it, make a bunch of sexist comments about woman and then get signed to a lucrative deal by the cowboys, consequently his standing on this board and in the NFL will rise by 50%.

If CK has his hand in multiple murders, then he has a great chance to end up as an analyst on espn and will be respected on this board...but at the moment he is detritous that detritus decays into....

If CK decides to beat his young son(200 pounds lighter) until he is covered in cuts and bruises, a son who he has a small and inconsequential relationship with, then he will no doubt become an MVP candidate, and future hall o' famer...but as it stands he is the most hated man in football...c'mon son,.

What a great world we live in.......?

I'm sitting during the national anthem to protest the national debt.

My guess is if she is a supporting DONOR she is making the NCAA hot line if she is perceived actively recruiting or being used to recruit that is a no no. See Kutcher and Demi Moore at Ia a few years back. NCAA has no sense of humor in this area.

You do realize that if the founding fathers had their way, only the richest and most "educated" elite would be able to vote and decide anything. That is the reason the electoral college is in the hands of elected elites...they can elect whomever they want to...fortunately they follow the masses will atm. The government of the founding fathers was the most centralized the country has ever seen, with the executive branch having the most power. States have never had more power in our country, if your life if bad or good, it is likely the state that controls it...and sometimes even your locality. Now, the military is the largest and most powerful federal institution, and is involved the most wastage in spending by far. The main job of the feds is to protect national security, and domestic rights. And I think it does both.

Source? I don't remember that part, except for Hamilton maybe, I'd like to read about it.

Here is the thing about this topic for me. If you put any stock in to what an athlete, actor, or other celebrity say on a political issue, I would say that you are a part of the problem in this country. Just because you have a platform doesn't mean you have to have an opinion.

Ok, and secondly, again this is for me only. I guess I know who Gabriel Union is from a Nebraska fan stand point, but how is she famous? Is she a model, actress, singer, where does her fame come from other and going out with D Wade? Also, since I don't know does that mean I am out of the loop?

SMOKIN HAWT!!!!

Could not possibly care less about her politics. Smokin hawt chicks live by a different set of rules, and I'm fine with that.

She is a famous actress and has been since maybe the late 90s or so I think?

By the way here's a great quote about her Husker roots: "In my family if you couldn’t talk Cornhusker football – that means knowing the Blackshirt defense, knowing the I-back formation – then you don’t get to have an opinion. When I first toured the Nebraska campus and I saw Turner Gill walk, I freaked out. That was like the biggest star-struck moment I’ve probably ever had in my life. But it's because I grew up in a household that always talked specifically Cornhusker football and Big 8 sports"
