Friday Night Pizza

Hand sliced pepperoni, sauteed baby bella mushrooms, fresh chopped habaneros, (my own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, fresh shredded low moisture whole milk mozzarella, provolone and applewood smoked cheddar, fresh basil. Topped with fresh grated Romano.

This week, my neighbors gave me a cut of their basil plant and I am in the process of trying to transplant it. I used some of the leaves today for today's pizza. They also had a couple of habanero plants growing and told me I could pick some of the peppers if I needed them. And so I did! I picked the two most mature peppers and they were just starting to turn a little color. They were green and yellow. Would have been hotter if they were orange. But that was the best I can do for free!

Once again you killed it! With that said isn't it like 3? Letting it digest so you can have a couple of extra beers?

I wasn't planning on making a pizza today. But on Saturday I took one of my crust out of the freezer and stuck it in the refrigerator to unthaw and do a little cold fermentation. I'm so glad I did. This pizza turned out awesome!

Italian dry salami, fresh sliced jalapenos, fresh cut baby bella mushrooms, fresh cut tomatoes with thyme, (my own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, dried parsley. Drizzled a spiral of olive oil while it cooled on the rack. Soooo good!

@bigboxes, you inspired me to make pizza this weekend. This was my Thai chicken pizza. A local brewery makes it and it's one of my wife's favorites so I decided to try making my own version. My wife claimed that it was even better than the brewery's pizza but I think she would say anything just so she doesn't have to cook. Laughing I make my own dough although I cheat a little and use a bread machine. I used a sweet chili sauce then topped it with some grilled chicken, shredded carrot, peanuts and mozzarella then when it was done cooking I garnished it with some fresh cilantro. I always precook my crusts for about 10 minutes so they're easier to handle when I transfer them to my pellet grill. Then I slide them off of the pizza pan right onto the screaming hot grill grates for about 10 minutes. Then I finish them off under the broiler so everything gets good and hot. I made a second pizza too but forgot to take a picture before I had already sliced it up. I used your idea for sauce with the san marzano tomatoes. It turned out great too but I have a lot of sauce left over. Does it freeze okay or should I just go ahead and make more pizzas now?

Very cool. I like the different. The sauce lasts me about a month. I keep it in the back of the refrigerator. Make sure you clean the underside of the cap and the mouth of the jar after each use. As for taking pics of your food, you should know by now that you must plan to take pics ahead of time. Thinking that you'll do it when you are hungry usually means you'll remember when you are halfway through your meal. Been there. Done that.

Not Friday night but I made this one on Sunday. I had some leftover sauce and a friend gave us some jalapenos from his garden. Pepperoni, beef, jalapeno and onion. I tried something a little different this time. You probably can't see it but there's some cream cheese somewhere on the bottom. I'm not sure that I was a fan of that and probably won't try it again unless I attempt a jalapeno popper pizza like I have been considering.

Hey, at least you tried. That's how you find out if you like something or if it works. I've had a few of those in my day. With pizza and with other stuff. But yeah it kind of sucks if you put something that doesn't work now you got to eat the whole thing. LOL

Yeah, it wasn't inedible by any means, I just don't think I would do it again. I finished off the leftovers last night. Used a little local honey on the crust. It was kind of like desert. 🤌

ignoring for the moment the topping Boxes and Huskeralk put on their pies, I'd pay good money just to eat the crust on their pizzas.
I appreciate it. It took a little trial and error but I think I have finally found my dough. I mentioned in another post that I kind of cheat and use a bread machine but I can sure give you the recipe if you want it.

Made this Friday night during halftime. Turned out great. Was very happy with the results. Now I'm thinking about what I should make for next week!

Ground beef, Italian sausage, fresh sliced black olives and fresh cut jalapenos. (My own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, fresh shredded low moisture whole milk mozzarella and provolone.

I needed some Friday Night pizza after that disaster of a game. We were walking downtown and I started looking for Lazzari's. It's one of my buddy's favorites so I thought I would grab a slice of the spicy chicken to make him jealous. Turns out it's not there anymore and the new location was a bit too far for us to go on foot so I had to settle for Cane's. 😢

First time spinach pizza. Suggestion of coworker. Bacon, spinach, mushrooms, jalapenos and (my own) garlic white sauce. Spinach is under the cheese. My buddy brought the beer for the game!

Before our neighbor BBQ'd our home we made a lot of homeade pizza...in our rental house in the mean time, we don't have our bread maker so we bought pre made crusts from Sam's recently. Pack of 5, with sauce. Cooked the pizza at 450 degrees, right on the rack, and were blown away at how crispy and light they were/are. So much so we are questioning if homeade crust is worth the effort anynore....and typical Sam's, 5 for like twelve bucks??? Don't remember for sure but they are cheap.

I had a buddy visiting from out of town. He requested a meat lovers and a supreme pizza. So, it was a challenge to do two pizzas at once. I think they turned out really well. Super delicious!

Supreme: hand-sliced pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, green pepper, mushroom and onions. Meat Lovers: hand-sliced pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, ground beef and bacon. Both: (my own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, fresh shredded low moisture whole milk mozzarella and provolone.

I had a little scare yesterday. My store was out of San Marzano tomatoes. I had run out of my own sauce and needed to make more. I had tomato sauce in a can. But that's not the same. So I had to go to a second store and there I found the last can of San Marzano tomatoes. Whew!

Sweet Italian sausage, green pepper, onion, (my own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, fresh shredded low moisture whole milk mozzarella and provolone. Topped with fresh shredded Romano!

I did the different this week (on the pizza). I made mango habanero sauce from scratch. The sauce solidified and separated overnight in the fridge. I emptied my containers of the sauce into a pan and added some cornstarch this evening to help thicken up the sauce. I brought it to a boil (briefly) and then turned it way down as I let it simmer. I definitely thickened up with 3 tsp cornstarch. The heat must have taken away just enough of the heat to make it more enjoyable.

Chicken breast, red onion and bacon on a base of olive oil, oregano, fresh garlic and fresh shredded low moisture whole milk mozzarella and provolone. I drizzled a spiral of (my own) mango habanero sauce and sprinkled fresh chopped parsley to make it pretty!
