For all the flack Buscini has taken

I’m happy to eat some crow when it comes to BB. i thought he was wildly inconsistent and referred to him as Shankapotomous but he has really been excellent most of the season and has bailed us out with some tremendous kicks.
He was nursing an injury all last year! Oh ye have little faith! Guys like you trash players out and then come back and say I'll eat crow but you guys do it over and over and over again. This is like the litte boy who cried wolf!

You are one of the most annoying posters on this board, except for HBK.
He probably should go into the Fidone thread and tell "Cedric" that he was wrong and "Cedric" was right after he had been told to fact check himself.

He could always go in and delete that post, but I already took a screenshot. LOL

His punting yards average is 46.54 yards per punt which is a shade better than Sam Koch was who was number 1 all time.

Something that Carriker said about Koch is mind blowing! He's a punter that bench pressed 315 lbs.

He probably cost us a game last year but has been outstanding this year. Does our special team coach get any credit for that? Asking for a friend. I’ll hang up and listen.

Nothing Carriker has ever said could be called 'mind blowing'. Especially not the fact that a D1 athlete can bench 315lbs.

Buschini was injured last year. Glad he’s apparently healthy this year. Wears #18 in honor of BB. Apparently a good guy. And apparently a good backup emergency QB if we ever need it.

I don't think Foley is going anywhere unfortunately. I'm not sure what explains the turnaround in special teams (except kick coverage), but recent games give Rhule all the excuse necessary for leaving him in place. I know Maher has to get credit for the placekicking.

I still can't imagine taking almost 20 games to get this shit figured out. Our place kicking game clearly cost NU the Illinois game.

I'm not a ST coach, but if you give me 30 guys who are OL or DL men, I bet I could have found one guy that can snap that ball 7 yards on a line to the holder. A perfect guy would have been that 3rd team or scout team guy, what a great way to make it on road trips. That's motivation.

Snapping was the issue with kicks and punts early in the season. I blame the one kick coverage issue against Wisconsin on the stupid penalty by Mazz that had us kicking off from the 20, that is just asking for trouble.

Hey, I'm with you. It'll never happen but I'd still like Sean Snyder as our ST coach. He's a Ok St. and might be looking for a job. The main thing is, in my mind, that Rhule put the proper emphasis on ST. Teams that win that aspect of the game usually have a head coach that believes in spending time on it. Maybe another benefit that Nebraska will see when it doesn't have 175 guys they're trying to "develop" at practice?

Let’s not forget his role as the holder for the FG unit. He’s caught a wayward snap or two to even allow Holt to attempt the kick . Would be okay with me if we have no need for him as a punter vs Iowa!

Absolutely yes to Snyder. At a minimum, Rhule should see what Bill Bush's level of interest is.

You take DH at OC next year and add a truly great ST coach to help the place kicker continue to become a weapon with FG's, you're looking at 10-14 points a game more potential.

A great FG kicker with 50 yard consistency is a helluva weapon.

But can they do it on front of 90,000? Therein lies the problem. I doubt I could consistently.

It isn’t an alibi to suggest that young players who can do something consistently in practice might not be able to do it in games. It’s a fact especially with specialists.
When the kids can't do it, it's the coaches.
When the coaches can't do it, it's the kids.
When the kids can't do it, it's the crowd.

(But, it's all good).
