I liked seeing Bonner get more involved in the USC game. He actually has some moves in the open field that I've seen. Presumably he can block better than Neyor or Banks... I thought it was a waste since last year that he was stuck at the fullback position. He's the perfect type of hybrid TE/WR body that we can use. It shouldn't have taken near this long for him to get his opportunity.
I'm not the biggest Coleman fan, but I think even as a true freshman he was a lot more productive than Banks has been this year. And he at least seemed to be a decent blocker. Which is a desperate need for us this year.
Dowdell is in no way, shape, or form a power back. I think Ervin would fit the bill a lot better as a hammer back.

DR isn't going anywhere but here next year. To many committed recruits are talking about there friendship with DR and getting to play together next year. Dawson Merrit is one of them. He even mentioned there are two other highly touted commits no one knows about yet.
What I will say about DR, he needs to get some giddy-up in his game. To me he takes to long from the hike to make his throws. It seems every throw is a lob that hangs in the air forever. Strong arm but where is the zip once in awhile. Does he have a bullet pass that gets there quick?
I thought it was funny hearing him call the players by their numbers and the potion coaches by their titles.
He probably doesn't know all of their names yet. And doesn't want to refer to anyone by the wrong name.
He should keep his distance.
