Me thinks DH thinks he may be auditioning for the job right now, get us another win, stay on next year as OC and either we continue to suck, Rhule gets fired, DH takes over as interim or we kick ass and DH gets to cherry pick his next gig.

Rhule isn’t getting fired and it’s likely Dana remains our OC. There’s no auditioning for him.

This is funny to me. Just a different face literally getting up on a podium and preaching to the fans. Telling them what he thinks they all want to hear. and everyone is eating it up. Just like they did for Rhule. Hope things get better.

I don't eat anything up at this point. It's refreshing to hear somebody from the outside come in and confirm what we know.

Correct.

And, at the end of the day, Rhule HAD to make a big move like this on offense.

Whether the AD was involved or not.

Because the alternative was to hold pat. In which case the offense looks exactly like it has this season over the last 2 games. And same cast of idiot coaches on the offensive side of the ball next season.

In which case DR leaves.

So the 2025 offense would look like the 2024 offense without DR under center.

In other words, it would look just like the 2023 offense.

And all hell would be raining down by game 4.

DH is not going to go into battle next season with an underperforming group of idiots in charge of his career rehab. No effing way.

I liked seeing Bonner get more involved in the USC game. He actually has some moves in the open field that I've seen. Presumably he can block better than Neyor or Banks... I thought it was a waste since last year that he was stuck at the fullback position. He's the perfect type of hybrid TE/WR body that we can use. It shouldn't have taken near this long for him to get his opportunity.

Coleman sucks.

I'm not the biggest Coleman fan, but I think even as a true freshman he was a lot more productive than Banks has been this year. And he at least seemed to be a decent blocker. Which is a desperate need for us this year.

Saw that too. Short yardage backs need good vision and a sense of timing to pick the right crease and hit it at exactly the right time. Dowdell’s vision and shiftiness (foot speed, balance) are lacking, though we have a lot of OL breakdowns in short yardage too. Much prefer EJ in general but we also need a better hammer back.

Dowdell is in no way, shape, or form a power back. I think Ervin would fit the bill a lot better as a hammer back.
