In their defense, we ran on 3rd and short the first time and couldn't get it.
Sooner or later Illinois is going to notice that our CBs are still getting burnt badly on the deep ball and stop messing with the short stuff
Jesus christ, some of you want to hate on these coaches so much it's ridiculous. Yes the coach put him in there, because AT SOME POINT he has to get his first plays right? DPE made a bad decision. You really think the coaches haven't told him not to do that? Haven't coached him not to gator arm a ball when there's three defenders right in front of you? Again, sometimes players just make mistakes. If it happens over and over then you can blame the coaches.
The very first time DPE has returned a punt and he makes a mistake? I'll blame the player
Yep. They're men, damnit! It's just unfortunate they don't know what it feels like to coach a perennial winner.
Let's be honest. DPE is a kick returner first and a great one at that. As a WR he has a long way to go. He might get a shit in the NFL, but the reason he gets so much press is for KR. NEB isn't exactly WR U
So you're saying despite the fact that he's healthy enough to play, we shouldn't be putting our all-american punt returner in the game? I'm honestly asking.
I don't understand what's up with the dropsies on the road. I mean, part of the problem is we're throwing to Reilly but still.
Nor does Reilly.
I don't get why Armstrong looks so antsy. It's like he's forgotten everything he showed the last four weeks as far as setting his feet and leaning into the throw.
I don't understand why Illinois is trying to run so much. Our pass defense is our weakness, it's like Illinois' coaching staff hasn't been paying attention.
