Remember guys like Kris Brown and Brett Maher? We used to be pretty much guaranteed to win special teams for decades. Every season we should be bringing in quality kickers. It's the most neglected position that makes the biggest difference.
I have. I’ve watched them win some games they should win. Not saying they will be easy - I don’t think we have an easy game left in the schedule, but I do think Rhule will get more wins this year than last year.
I'm not sure about that. Altmeyer has really matured onto a very good QB. Some of what happened tonight is on our defense, but je was still very accurate and good with jis decision-making.
I think Illini is a good team. We are just okay at this point. Our wr's got open and I'm sure their defense is better than Rutgers in the secondary.

Last week I had several posters on here telling me that I was a hater because I questioned our second-half play and how UNI exposed our defense in several areas. Now some will likely call me as a sunshine pumper
.I expected this team to win a couple more games than they did last year and keep the same trend Matt Rhule has seen it is two previous college stops. So I was hopeful we could pull out a win against Illinois, but I certainly wasn’t confident in it. Brett Bielma has beaten nearly every coach we’ve had since joining the Big Ten, so I figured he would have his team prepared well.
I don't think everything is in front of us. I think we just got exposed in national tv. Momentum in recruiting will take a massive hit. Unfortunately I think this was just the start. I am now thinking maybe 5 wins
Hartzog has been the weak link since his fluke, somewhat decent first year. He needs to sit the bench or be demoted. Plain and simple.
You might be right. I am going to stick with 7 wins. This could be the start of a downward slide or maybe a wake up call. Hopefully the latter. We have overall average talent on this team, but enough to beat a team like Illinois. When a loss like this happens, it becomes somewhat of a coaching issue. I am sober as I type this.
Disappointed in the defense, like everyone else. I feel like I was duped thinking that side was good. Omit OSU and USC, that defense is really going to have problems with Indiana, Wisconsin and Rutgers. I'm just shocked how soft this team is on defense. Admittedly, I saw a red flag after watching UNI move it so easily. But let's just start with Purdue and take it a game at a time. But so much for the hype.
Didn’t play a great game and had some terrible calls go against us and no calls that didn’t help us. Shit happens. My god there is constant improvement from where we’ve been. Get over it, and get ready for Purdue. Still a lot of football to be played.

Seems like they knew everything we were going to do but we didn't have a clue what they were gonna do or how to stop them.
I said 8-4 on the regular season with a bowl game win at 9-4.
We will be lucky if we are 6-6 on the season. Going against good coaching will always trump Nebraska.
6 wins will be hard to scratch out if that’s the defensive performance they will get. And the undisciplined penalties. Beating Colorado and the Sanders family, ending the losing skid to CU might be the high water mark of the season. Maybe we somehow put together a great game and finally beat Wisconsin or take Iowa down again, either of those would feel very good as well.
