Based on the fact that since 1980 only 1 coach, Joe Tiller, has had a winning record? Does that work?

Tiller raised program expectations.

He did and your lame administration did him wrong.
Former lame administration, yes. Yes indeed. Good thing absolutely no one from that regime is left. And we now have an administration that is investing heavily in football. They understand the importance. Since Brohm has arrived, almost 200 mil into the program has been completed/is planned.

Similar to 20 years ago for Nebraska?
not similar at all

whoever you're talking about 'raised expectations' from doormat to.. perhaps a bit thicker doormat

Nebraska Football has cucked you so hard you spend 24/7 reading every single word you can find about it for your entire life. you're beyond obsessed.

you will never, ever see a Nebraska fan posting on a purdue page. you are nothing. you're a joke & your existence here posting the thirstiest, most pathetic sh*t I've ever seen begging for some teeny tiny bit of validation for your nothing never was dumpy crap team proves it.

Minnesota is 7-2 and 6-3 in Big Ten play in the last 2 real seasons. Both times winning at Purdue. We still have Morgan and some pieces...so I don't see why Purdue should be favored.

Tannor Morgan might be the worst starting QB ever.

Minnesota also has had some very generous calls vs Purdue the last couple of games..... iffy OPI on game winning TD. Minny TD where the ball hit the ground. To name a couple.

Lol. Not a Husker fan but no, no Purdue has no similarity. Twenty some years ago Nebraska had national title expectations, granted those expectations are no longer realistic today.
After 10 years in the Big Ten it really seems like most fans of most of the teams are just trying to figure out how their team can win 6-7 games...then they occasionally brag about how they think their team might win 8.

It is such a depressing conference.

Which is exactly my point. Nebraska expectations were raised 20 years ago, but 8 wins is a good year for them based on recent results.

Putting a lot of stock in Petras are you..
Defense for Iowa and Offense for Purdue. Nebraska could certainly contend, Big Ten is trench warfare - its hard to win the West if the talent and depth is not sufficiently developed up front. If Nebrska's lines are improved, especailly the OL, the Huskers will be right there.

Purdue has zero trenches
I wouldn't go that far, I didn't do a deep personell dive there for Purdue. As far as I can tell, they have as many question marks as Nebraska, maybe more.... I guess we'll find out for both. I placed them 2nd on the strength of their passing game, especially the experience there, and expected improvements on defense.

Its always a guess. Every team feels good about the upgrades they have made during the offseason. I'm sure coach Frost feels good about the upgrades and changes made along the OL and DL. Purdue has similar optimism. We'll see if they are right.

With my Iowa bias I would like to favor the Hawks to win the West, A lot of returning starters and as has been noted Iowa should be pretty salty on defense, The problem is you can’t count on Petras stepping up his game, Iowa has also been very fortunate in having very good field goal kickers the past several years, This year is yet to be determined.
Until proven otherwise really hard to pick against the Badgers although Mertz has his own question marks.

Usually the team that has to play Ohio State regular season basically has a handicap of a game back - for whatever reason (sure) Nebraska has had to play OSU 6 times in a row, while both Iowa has played OSU only once since 2013 and Wisconsin only twice in the regular season - call it whining, but that is a huge handicap to essentially be a game down before the race even begins. In no way shape or form would NU have won the B1G West in those six seasons, but just saying....schedule matters tremendously in who wins our mediocre division.

Last year was the only year that the team with the best divisional record didn’t win the division. There has only been one year since the big went to east and west divisions that a teams cross over schedule against the east mattered in the slightest with regards to who won the division.

Scott Frost in 4 years has won a grand total of 6 divisional games in 23 tries (26%) and has been worse in years 3 and 4 than years 1 and 2. Complaining about cross over schedule seems a bit much when we have only managed a single win against our divisional opponents the last 2 years.
